Extended Maintenance for X5 35d

My maintenance is about to end. The guy at the dealer says I should absolutely extend it. It's $2500.00 (but he said he'll take 10% off). First off, is this worth owning? I know brake jobs are expensive, but are they worth outsourcing to independent shops?

Also, can this rate be haggled?

Mine quoted $2795.00 but there is a $500. So that's $2,295. I'm sure there's room. To extend the Warranty to 100K was like 7K OUCH!
