    Mission creep has started....

Since I picked up the 99 E38 a few weeks ago I've been taking care of maint items I wanted to do and some other "needed" items.....so far....Tranny filter and fluid changed twice (dont ask).....Filtran first and ZF second with Maxlife fluid and all is well in tranny world. Changed oil/filter, cabin filters and underhood charcoal filters on hood. One OSV was squealing so I changed both.....the passenger side was a tad of a biatch but squealing problem resolved. Installed new fogs, clear rear tails, trunk shocks, emblems and passenger side seat trim. All I had left was tints however today I noticed the headliner is sagging badly and will need replaced...... a bit of a surprise since it was perfect a few days ago but Fl heat must have accelerated the glue delamination. I've done the E31's before so Im sure its the same procedure more or less? Probably go back with a tan suede......hopefully this is NOT the start of other items.....lol.

Not sure how often these are related, but after any E38 purchase you should check the sunroof drains.
The only one I have had with a saggy headliner in the rear had a rear sunroof drain leak.

Welcome to the insanity that comes with owning an e38. I am sure you are more then comfortably numb with the feeling owning an e31.

Please post pics when you get a chance.

LOL, I actually have fond memories of the E31.....the V12 has always been good to me with the "usual" quirks as does every BMW model so I'm sure the E38 is no different....gotta say I love the car so far after the totally effortless 1400 mile drive from Dallas. Its built like a tank and soooo quiet.....I wish the color was different (Cashmere metallic) but cant complain since its REALLY been taken care of mechanically and cosmetically since all new parts are OEM with factory hoses, clamps, etc so that makes up for the color. Totally different drive than the E31 but a luxury ride for sure.....cant beat a $100k car for Honda money....an enthusiasts dream...
