I'd like to ask where do I begin w/the red battery indicator light just coming on and how to remedy the issue. Please help!
If the red battery light is coming on it generally means that your alternator isn't properly working and the battery is powering the electrical system. How many miles on the car? How old us the battery? Has the alternator ever been serviced (i.e., a new voltage regulator)?

Its a bad voltage regulator. Either get one or a rebuilt alt.
Try FCPGroton for a new regulator. BUT FIRST, you need to find out which alternator is in your car. There are three possibilities:
- 80 amp Bosch
- 120 amp Bosch
- xxx amp Valeo
If it's the Valeo you need to replace the alternator with a new/rebuilt alternator. If it's a Bosch, you can replace the voltage regulator. And no, you can't swap the Valeo for a Bosch or visa versa as the connectors are different.
How to determine which alternator is in your car - read the label on the back of the alternator using a flashlight and a mirror.
