While I was in Europe, just a year ago, I had an e36 4 door 323i. It did not have knee protection, as the euro models e36 didn't. On the driver's side the foam block and the bar are not there. An Austrian decided to go on a short passup in my lane oncoming, and smashed into me at over 90 km\h, me doing about the same. Shattered my knee (among damages), which thankfully recovered after one year. I can't imagine going through anything remotely close to that again.

Because it weighs 45lbs and the backing/support for my glove box attachments weren't looking all that great. Now the glove box shouldn't ever sag or rip through any of the supports

My take on it is those things are not knee protection. As a matter of fact, they are the opposite. The idea is to keep an unbelted occupant from sliding into the footwell and being decapitated by the exploding airbag. Well, maybe not decapitated... but the idea is to keep the torso centered on the bag at the expense of the knees.

I am by no means a safety engineer, and do not condone disabling or removing safety devices. But these anti-submarine bolsters are gone from both my cars.

Hey ppl, I have been thinking of getting the remainder of these done everyday no doubt. I worked 76 hours last week and only made about 4 with the quick mins I've had here and there. It's been tough finding some availability to do these during noise making hours (detached garage is planned for 2114). so anyway, I have a solid 4 hrs before work tomorrow and I'll be able to work on some then. After that my next half day off will be Sun. Hang in there with me guys and I'll get you set up! Also it's a 99.9% chance I received your payment
