How did the double sided tape work? 3 years ago a friend of mine used 3m's extra heavy duty double sided tape to attach a glass window to a rag top and it worked very well.

Im a bit surprised it only lasted 2 weeks. Some tape is stronger than others. Do you have the oem heavy metal plate still installed in yours?
