My new strut bar review

Strong Strut wins. I don't mind the Schmeidmann one, but I would be worried about proper clearance which is why the Strong Strut has that curve to it.

Clearance to the hood or to the engine cover?
Are you saying one of them simply won't fit?

That's the whole point of the argument. Does it help or not?
I personally say yes. At least I could tell a difference. I'm not saying the strut towers lean in and out like trees in a breeze, but keep them locked together and the steering geometry stays where it should.

Think what you will. I raced in SCCA for 10 years, both regional and national class races and I could notice a difference after installing the strut bar.

Well if we are whipping out creds my family has been racing for 60 years and we have a hall of famer and a sprint cup champion in the family.

Did you race a 7 series e38 or some flimsy car?

The problem with typical strut bars is they still allow the front end to parallelogram. Obviously connecting the towers together allows them to add to each others strength, but to really stiffen stuff up you have to triangulate off the firewall or the bottom end of the suspension somewhere.

The only strut bar I've seen do that is the 3SX strut bar for the mitsubishi starion.

i've seen Option2 articles and videos (years ago) where they were able to show the amount of body flex on some cars. from what i remember, every car reacted different, but all improved with a bar. Nothing extreme either.

I think I'd probably go with what the OP posted. It's a solid one-piece design, which I like. I don't like the idea of having the piece bolted to the car and then the actual bar being bolted to the mounts. That's 2 extra points where flex/movement can occur.

Plus, isn't the Strong Strut like $400? I couldn't possibly justify that over $150.

My current thoughts are just to get the Ultra Racing and have it powder coated the correct color (assuming it clears a V12).
The Strong Strut is great as is not having to unbolt your struts to work on your engine, but it's $500 IIRC.
