yes , i figured it time to go a little faster or atleast try.
15" rim is key for low 60ft times and this is why i decided on 15" rims. Ive been doing more digging and here is what i got.
e36 has a 5x120 bolt pattern and the weld and billet wheels along with domestic stuff is 5x4.75 and that = 5x120.6.
5x120.6 is not 5x120 but it is VERY close , i spoke to david tran and he has ran a 5x4.74 domestic wheel befor and the jegs guy says that fittment should not be an issue. the only thing im waiting on now if for my friend to measure the hub bore to see if they jive with the e36 hub.
also has anyone ever tried to run a 27" tire?, both hoosier and mickey thompson make one.

Turns out it's right at 5.1/2" back spacing
bmw is 72.56 mm the billet rim is 78.23 and I found some hubcentric rings that will make up. The differance.
and boom ..http://www.jegs.com/i/Detroit+Wheels...256-4/10002/-1

Nice! I'm looking to move down to 15s myself but I wanna see how the 16 inch DRs do first!
My best time to date is 12.2 @ 112mph with a 1.78 60 ft on the 16s with a 120 shot of n20. But now it's boosted haven't been to the track yet hope to take it soon though still have to reinforce the rear subframe mounts and put all new bushings back there and recently put in a dss ds so should be decent on the track!
I finally got some 15s to work. Took quite the amount of work.
Needed to pull my H&R OE sport springs, drop in some raceland rear springs and height adjusters pretty much maxed. Also needed to install 12mm spacers.
What OEM 15inch wheel is common for this mod? Im not sure what style im running but ill get the #s off it later. They are 15x7 and et of 40iirc

Ah. Misread.
Op, nvm I see I have asked before about the fenders. They must be pulled pretty well to clear the if tires, no?

The best tire for a high power manual trans is a bias ply slick, not drag radial. Its very hard to make a radial stick and not spin with a manual trans high horsepower. Bias ply slicks can spin and still be gripping, radials cannot. They usually stick or spin, there is not much in between. and when they stick, its usually an automatic car with awesome suspension that has been dialed in properly.
Need front runners with a Bias Ply?

Yeah...I thought so..need something I can drive on the street w/o needing front runners.
OP-have pics of what your fenders look like with those 275's mounted?

People mix radials and bias slicks... But it's not very safe. I drive my front runners on the street all the time. Just have to know their capabilities.... Like no turning or stopping LOL
Hahaha..no thanks..not for my case anyway..
Sorry, didn't mean to thread jack.

If I was going for sub 1.5 60 ft I'd get a bias ply setup and skinnies up front
by best 60 to date is 1.9 .... Shitty shitty
if I can pull a 1.6 or a 1.5 on drag radials I'd be happy
