I started with a 1974 2002 that sat in storage for about 5 years. Here is what I started with. More highlights of the project to follow.
Built to be driven!
Once the carpet was torn up, we found the bad spots. Needless to say we had some floor pan areas to replace.

The engine ran, but needed a lot of TLC. Here are the before pictures.

Once the body was gutted, we made a custom body dolley. It works great. Very solid and manuverable. I would be willing to sell it if anyone is interested.

And that is only the beginning. I have lots more pictures. I will post when I can.

...if you are keeping it period correct...those seats are a nice start.......mor e pics of them pls!
Depends on your budget.....
Did you see my post on e21 recaros redone by Dave at Aardarc?....get some used e21 recaro seats...and redo them....
or go for GTS seats...I can get you a break on those. I have a post here or on bmw2002faq on those as well......
It just depends on your vision...and your wallet.
hey looking good. I dig the dolly you fabbed up.
Its good to see another o2 owner in my neck of the woods. I have a set of standard buckets from a '76 but they'll need recovering. Let me know if you need any other o2 parts, I have a quite a few just laying around.

Any chance of getting some specs on that dolly? VERY nice!

I'm not sure what I can provide for you. We built it from the car down to the floor. We used the front crossmember bolt locations and used the rear diff. bracket bolt locations as you can see from the pics. I bought some casters that hold 500 lbs each. A little excessive, but works great. My friend, Chris (owner/operator of RealStreetOnline.com), is the mad genius. We just built it to fit. I don't have any dimensions. Sorry.

Nice project you have there. Are you going to keep it stock in regard to color, features, and appearance? (i.e. what do you have in mind for your '74 Chamonix, Tony?) Good Luck.
The body is painted, done in white primer. Keeping this car "hot rod" style. It will be my weekend runner, and track car. More pics available and I will post them as soon as I can.

Tony-
The 2002 looks fantastic! I originally painted my 2002 AW and loved the way it looked when she rolled home from the paint shop cherry as the fallen snow.
Keep the images coming please.
wow, this is an amazing project ! mainly because its really close to home :]
have you posted this on eurowerks ? i bet they would love it !

great start on documenting your build! Not sure if i'm more impressed by the dolly or by the car itself, either way, fantastic job!
Engine is in. Suspension is in. Check out the picks. All I bought was new shocks and springs.

Great job, it looks fantastic, keep up the good work.
looks sweet. What did you use on the bottom of the car and in the fenders? it almost looks powdercoated.

I can't remember the brand name right off hand, but I will get it. It's a rock/chip coat out of a spray can. A person I know works at Line X and recommended it. I'll follow up with some info.
I also sprayed the bottom of the car, truck, and rocker panels in this same product. You can layer it up to create a texture.
