E28 Drift Build: Slow white style.

What's up guys. Figured I'd post my drift build. This car is a piece of awesomeness that I've had for almost 2 years now. It's come a very long way from what it used to be. Some say I ruined, I would agree. But I've had more fun beating the ever living $%^& out of this car than I would have driving it around parking it at shows and letting other people gawk over it.

It started it's life as a US Spec 535i and it still kind of is.

When I got it it looked like this.

Then I made it look like this.

I was allllll about that stance game. As you can see.

But then I made it do this

    And this.

    and this

I basically tore the car down, stripped it, fixed everything that was wrong with it. Put an LSD in it and have been beating it mercilessly ever since. Right now it looks a bit like this. Only stuck in my garage because it doesn't run. But that was by choice, thankfully.

Now the car is being mocked up for a ridiculous widebody and I'm building and wiring in MS2 so I can start to prep the car for the turbo. But turbo things probably won't happen this season as I am poor and I bought a DD. Here is some stuff to observe.

    Widebody:

This is where I got the idea.

Wheel setup I'm looking to do. Flipped barrel rc090s 17x8 et-41

    Not my wheels ^^^^^

    MS2:

S52 Injectors, for better fuel atomization.

    Switch panel

Catch can. M30s love blow through.

The car is nearly running. I just need a crank pulley off of a B35 so I can get the ignition going. Might even go balls out and run the damn thing distributor-less. Either way I'm shooting for over 200 wheel. I just found out that riot racing has released their 68mm throttle body for the m30. So that will be happening as well as a 292 cam regrind to shift the power band.

Other than that, I'm just waiting on parts. The car now has wideband and I will hopefully be getting to redo the exhaust accordingly next weekend.

Here are some more random pics.

Thanks for looking, I'll try and remember to update stuff.

I'm not really sure what size turbo I want to go with. I've seen some guys who go cheap and just run HX35s, I've thought about an HX40. But I've been looking at the Garrett gt3582r twin scroll. It's the smallest t4 flange twin scroll that they carry and I think it would probably be best for all around performance.

Beauty another e28. I love the flipped style 5s, I've been planning do the same when I find some style 19s. Are you widening the rear too? If so how I'm kinda now sure how to on mine.

Well kiddies. I finally got my wheels. I've been waiting for almost 2 months and I finally found a set. I've had them for two days. The barrels have already been separated and I test flipped them to see what fitment would be like. It's PERFECT. Exactly what I was looking for. I won't have to run spacers or anything. Anyway here are some pictures of what I've done so far.

    When I got them

I had the first one apart 20 minutes after they arrived.

    front fitment with fender.

side view. Need to mount a tire to one.

an hour later I had three apart

    Cleaned the barrel on one

Rear fitment. I'm drooling. I cant wait to weld the doors and cut them out to fit.

    Close up view

    Rear again

On another good not, I finally got an email from grip royal. My steering wheel should ship out in the next two to three weeks. And my TPS adapter finally shipped from German Engineering. I'm just waiting for this craigslist guy to text me back so I can get my crank pulley and this turd will be running again.

Thanks guys! This is what I'm planning for the rear. It finally dawned on my that I should check Kinnby's site for pictures. I was not disappointed.

I'm literally waiting on parts now. I have everything ready to go. I'm picking up my welder now and my crank pulley, sensor, and bracket arrive monday. I'm really hoping to have it running this week and at the very least start getting things tacked into place.

    Loving it!!

    Running a Holset HX-40 with a >16cm T-hsg would be a meaty setup.
    Cheap, durable and plenty about.

IIRC there is a guy on e30tech (Good 'n' Tight) running one in an E30 on a M30B34 and has +500hp on e85.
(in the M30 & Other Swaps section if you're looking.)

Save yourself a lot of headache and cut a set of quarters off a junk car to do those flares. That way you can just cut the wheel arch area up and seal it, and then the second fender can go over the body without opening the whole quarter panel to tons of rust.

Looking killer so far BTW, now I need to get My E28 on the road again!

I would love to but I don't really have time. And I want to get it done. I'm going to reprint everything before it goes anywhere. Even if it has just primer the first time I drive it. You need to build an angle kit for the e28!

Well, it's on the ground. It looks
    AWESOME

Sorry for the bad pictures but whatever. It's so wide.

Put my alternator bushings in, had to get poly ones.

B35 trigger wheel so I can run the vr trigger.

And the worst picture ever. Poly steering coupler. #aintcare

So you think your car is wide?

Also finished my straight pipe and added the wideband bung

Thinned my front harness it's down to two wires just for headlights. I now also have like 4 less fuses and two less relays, less to go wrong.

Best I can do is outside the garage because it doesn't run yet. On a positive note, I do have my MS2 working, just not 100%.

Also I think I have enough tires for a few events......

also went to FDATL and got my selfie game on.

Also trying to come up with a cool non-m themed livery. I thought this was pretty cool.

I'll hopefully have it running this weekend. My goal is to have it back on track for the july SWD Grassroots comp.
