Thanks man, it's been a tough winter with school but I'm really hoping to get the ball rolling again!!
The hood vents helped a ton, I'm not sure if I posted in here or not but I believe I saw a drop in oil temp by ~20*? And coolant by 10*. I think... Also the car didn't feel lofty with the vents vs no vents.
Sure! I'll shoot ya a PM.
Awesome.
i have a lot of pressure in my bay. there's a hole in the firewall by my feet that feels like a tiny hurricane. and I know that will turn to a fire hurricane once the weather gets hot.
hood vent will make all the difference.

My apologies for the lack of detail.
I did some tuft testing on the two side vents and those showed significant airflow.
I have not done the same for the front vent but I'd say it's safe to assume it works equally as well. I know I did pressure testing across my hood and luckily the placement and fitment of the vent was pretty much exactly the only place it could really fit. The leading edge of the vent is ~1" behind the radiator which fills the area between the motor and radiator. I then paired all of the above with a one piece sealed duct + a 42 row oil cooler, with all of that I was able to maintain ~240* oil temps with the R comp tires. I feel I may have to do a bit more heat management with the stickier hoosiers as I'll be driving that much harder, higher % average of WOT.
Thanks for the extra info. My oil cooler isn't as enormous as yours...but my car is more streetcar than race car.
my radiator is ducted, shrouded, and fanned.
my oil cooler is poorly located until I duct it and then vent the hood...then it's positioned like a boss.
i've only seen <180° Oil temps on the dyno to this point. I can get it to 180° if I beat on it and the ambient is ~70°. But I know this cooler weather is gonna give way to heat and humidity, and I want to be ready. The oil tstat gets delivered and installed today. So that'll get me up to temp even in the cooler weather.
thanks for all the help.

Sup dudes, did some more aero testing!! Since I always felt my rear spoiler was pretty ineffective... I made it 2" bigger. I then realized that maybe it's just not getting enough air off the back window since it's fairly sloped.
I found these vortex generators on www.airtab.com for $2.25 a piece. I bought 10, they sent 11 but I only needed 9. Due to their design, they cannot be placed close to the back window because of the radius. Anyway, here is a before and after video, I'd say it's a damn good success. Only issue now is the turbulence on the sides, not sure what to do about that. We'll see if my top speed is increased due to the decreased drag. Sure feels easier to get to 100

Wow, man, that is incredible. Did/can you put the strings on the spoiler and trunk lid and see how they affect flow up to and over the spoiler?
Yeah, it really is incredible!
Finished the master cylinder swap and made front splitter supports!
Started off with a 19mm but that ended up being too soft of a pedal and required way too much stroke (foot would go past the accelerator). Swapped the 19mm for a 23mm and it is EXACTLY what I wanted! It feels glloorriooouuusssss!!! I almost want to brake more than accelerate!
I'll be at GridLife this weekend!!! So if any one is going to be there, stop by!! We'll be camped near the south east side of the paddock.
Nice, i'll be waiting for the SlipAngle podcast on it. :P
Did you install the vortex generators 1 by 1 and do test runs?
you had good attached flow near the C pillars but poor down the middle in first run. I'd try 3 VG in the middle and go from there. You may also want to move them forward and back to see the effects.
would be cool to a camera mounted further behind the trunk . Would show where your wing is good at catching air and where you need to improve.
I put 10 across the back roof life. I could've done more testing and yielded better results, but that would've been very time consuming and I just don't get that involved with this stuff.
However, I did pick up 3-4mph on my local tracks back straight! Not sure if that is entirely contributed to the VG's or if I'm just that much more confident with my late braking from the new brake setup.

M3 broke two more diff bolts at GridLife, a 10.9 grade I put in, in 2015 and the 8.8 that was a temporary fix. I ordered a 12.9 socket head to get my by for the rest of the year, hopefully I'll have a built diff + a bit more power to put through it by next year
Picked up some 18x10's soon to order 295 Hoosier A7's Lap times about to drop !!!!
You sir, are out of control.
please continue.

When I have money to burn (again) I'll be on those or the 315s on 18x11.
Did you buy your 18x10s already? I got a set of 18x10.5 brand new for about $600 shipped.

I have used https://www.facebook.com/JohnBergetTire/ for A7 and R7 tire purchases. Tires are 75-80% tread for a fraction of the cost of new. I just got 8 R7s for $800 shipped to my door.
I bought some Apex wheels off a friend for $500, but thanks for the link, I may snag a set for shits n giggles.
I'm not 100% sure what tires I'm going to run just yet, I may try RE71 to be class legal for GridLife and tout my fast lap times on a street tire lol.
Stance suspension is currently getting rebuilt/revalved and I'm upping my rates to 750/900!!
Your build still amazes me haha! Good inspiration for mine, I am just starting to put some time back into it. Hoping to do an LS swap this off season as well.

Lol thanks man! I have some A6's coming in next week that I got for cheap, see how the m3 like slicks then I'll move up to a7's if I find anything and re71r for competitive stuff.
I also realized I had my oil temp hooked up to the pre-oil cooler port lol... Switched that around, now we'll see what my oil temps are post oil cooler
Cancelled the A6's... Got some 305 Pirelli DH's coming!! If they don't fit I'll sell but if they do?!?! Dayummmm lol
305 as in 305mm wide? It'll be a challenge to get them to fit.

Yes sir, 305mm wide. I fear it'll be extremely tough to fit them but it's worth a shot lol
That's my car on street tires. It was a while ago and I think those are 18x10.5 wheels with 305 tires in the rear - they fit easily. Normally the car has 18x11 wheels front and rear with 315/30/18 Hoosiers. Keep in mind that my car has a lot of fender work to make room for these.
