    330ci p0444

    Im new here...i have a 2001 330ci.
Just replaced ccv valve and all lines and now its throwing code p0444. Checked for vaccuum leaks with pressure test. ..none..

Is it possible i have something not connected to the right connector or possibly the purge vavle is stuck? ?

P0444: Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open

It's not the engine's intake system that's causing the problem. Here's the skinny on this code:

"The Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) canister purge volume control solenoid valve uses a ON/OFF duty to control the flow rate of fuel vapor from the EVAP canister. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is moved by ON/OFF pulses from the Engine Control Module (ECM). The longer the ON pulse, the greater the amount of fuel vapor that will flow through the valve."

I just replaced ccv lines and now it won't start.

Getting fuel at the rail. Getting spark. It started one time...won't idle correctly..jumps up and down between 3 and 1500k rpm.

New to these cars please help..
    Thank you

Recheck all your ccv hoses, sounds like you left one off or loose creating a massive vacuum leak.

Check the wiring. That is a purge valve code. Open circuit. Make sure you didn't swap any connectors.

Must be something though...very annoying...ive tried the following

    Swapping connections
    Unplugging maf.
    Unplugging purge valve.

Never ever had an issue starting until i replaced the ccv then it barely started then idle like stated above. Then i had a burning smell ??? Been sitting since then

unplug your battery, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. May be pointless, but its somewhere to start. Based on the symptoms, it has to either be a massive leak from the CCV, or it a sensor. Make sure the CCV itself is seated in the large hole in the bottom center of the intake manifold. If it's not that, and you're sure all the hoses are plugged in, you have to check all of the sensors that are anywhere near where you were working. Even though you said you check, it almost has to be that a sure swapped sensor wasn't plugged in, or you swapped 2 (not sure its possible though). Look paticularly close that the intake vanos sensor, intake cam sensor, ICV and CPS. Might as well unplug them and plug them all back in. I've seen this happen a few times and it has always been a sensor not plugged in.

This is a super quick job, here's the DIY to removing and replacing that purge valve to resolve the P0444 code:
