I couldn't find anything when I searched.
My master cylinder has a tiny leak, and I'm probably going to replace it. Looking at my options, it seems that OEM is about $380 - $550 where aftermarket stuff can be had for as low as $80. Normally I would get OEM but with that kind of price difference I'm wondering if I can get away with something cheaper. Which brands have people had luck with? Which brands should I stay away from? If I can find OEM brand (which I believe is TRW/Lucas/Girling) that lacks the BMW retail branding for a discount I'm obviously also keen on that idea.
Thoughts?
Oh, and if I can rebuild my current master cylinder with some kit or something I'd love to do that too. I haven't looked into that much.

What brand did you find for $80? A Lucas branded one (without BMW on it) will work just as well as OEM.
I know in Europe, they rebuild master cylinders all day. Vendors usually can get the parts needed, seals, springs, etc. Definitely much cheaper.

The $80 MC is brand ÜRO. Search for the part number in the first post at ECS Tuning and it shows up as the only other unit offered (from that vendor).

Here is a bit of discussion on the brand I found just now: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-cylinder.html
Edit: I'm finding TRW/Lucas/Girling branded units (which are OEM as best I can tell) at a few vendors for $160 - $190, which is much more promising. Had I found these prices to begin with I may not have made this thread. =/
Vendors with the cheapest pricing I've found:
