I am stumped.
I have a mint condition 1996 740IL E38. It's throwing the Check Engine Light/ASC/ABS dashboard/Speedometer at 0 thing at me.
I am about to pull the trigger and buy a/the proper scanner for it but I don't really know which one will read, scan and diagnose it the best given its year.
The C110 Code Reader? PA Soft? BMW Scanner 1.4? Which works with it?
Vets that can chime in any knowledge on this please help a fellow bimmer lova out

Bmw scanner 1.4 is PA soft and is not bad for the money(around $70). Best tool you can get for the money and easy to use. Just don't go pushing buttons if you dont know what they do... For diagnosing and reading codes its pretty sufficient... It can also do some other things as well if your get familiar with it.
Any sellers on the US shores that I can buy this from for a next-day delivery purplecty?
Doubtful as most of these cheapies are chinese replicas. You can install INPA and get a good quality cable from member rv8flyboy (gert). Laptop will need a true serial port for his cable. Or get a known good usb obd2 with 20 pin adapter for whatever laptop you can install inpa on. Check out the software section of the forum. Alot of Info in there. Good luck!
And what about the C110 Reader?
I bought a cheap one from Oreilly. Works good for me
