Thread: Boost and Vacuum leak tester

    I built a bunch of these a little bit ago. Great to test for boost leaks, also will work on a non F/I car, testing for vacuum leaks.
    Silicone adapter is 3 in inside diameter (E36 throttle body is 3 inch outside diameter).

    On a turbo or supercharged car with a 3 inch air filter, remove air filter. Connect silicone adapter to intake pipe. Connect regulator to air compressor, and slowly (turn dial) and pressurize intake system to roughly 20-25 psi. Once pressure stabilizes. (Will take a min or so) grab a squirt bottle with soapy water mix, and spray down entire system. Bubbles = leaks. You will find small bubbles around throttle body

    For those top mount guys here is a 4 inch Boost leak tester.
    2.5 , 3.0 , 3.5 and 4 inch are all available.
