I noticed a number of people go for an M3 diff swap when putting an LS into an E46.
At one level I get it—you don’t want to shred the diff and torque your chassis.
But what of the car isn’t intended to ever see a track or a strip?
I want low end grunt. My car will spend its life between 1000-3000 rpm with an occasional blip to 4000 for an assertive freeway on-ramp entrance or semi-trailer pass.
In that case, is the M3 diff still recommended? Is it just for racing/race-capable, or will torque at normal road speeds be beyond the stock unit?
