I have this used US spec HVAC unit in stock.
Price for used ones in Germany is avarage €300,- WITHOUT LED conversion.
Please note that this unit is not for AUC equipped cars as you can see from the button to the right of the AC power button.

Price on exchange basis for your working and mechanically intact unit US$120,-
Shipping to any US location is US$25,-

It is pretty simple. Just remove the center console (Remove Radio, then push out MID) and remove screws at the top of the console and under the gear shift boot. Disconnect two cables that go to HVAC unit, and then remove four screws from the back that attach it to the console.

It's actually just one cable going to the unit.
The most critical part are the mounting studs on the center console. Like all plastic in our cars they like to be brittle and break.
Then you have to be inventive - or get a new console.
But other than that it is like Dave says - simple task.

    Hi Daryl,

    standard procedure is as follows:
    1. You pay the requested prices plus a core charge of US$300,- (plus shipping).
    2. I ship the unit to you.
    3. Once you have received it you have 2 weeks to ship your unit back to me.
    4. Once I receive your unit I'll check it and if it is OK I refund the core charge to you.

If you don't want to pay a core charge you can of course ship your unit first and modify it. Whatever you prefer.

    Regards
    Wolf

    Hi Wolf,
Is this the way your HVAC unit is modified with LED's ?

Awesome! Will this be a ongoing service or one off? I could see doing this soon for the upgrade from such a reliable source, Tia!

This upgrade gives you a different lighting color ? or MORE lighting behind the wheels and buttons ? [or both]

my old 750 has a similiar unit and the lighting behind it is really bad and hard to read in the dark, I would love to do this to both of my cars 850 and the 750 as well........ [if that's and option]

Not exactly like that because I didn't make a scientific project out of it

I can do it as an ongoing service as long as i have units for swap available.

I'm using warm-white LEDs to avoid a different color. The picture shows IMO pretty well that there isn't any difference.
The push buttons are the OEM light color and brightness while the wheels are my modification.

    Fellas,
Been a long time since I visited.
Contacted Wolf and will be sending my HVAC to him for the light mod. I read the Wiki and the instructions were great... disassembled with no problem. Reassembled with no problems either.
Removed unit due to broken standoffs on back of dash panel. Read some posts and articles on console removal which was rated at 10 minutes. Big smile here... I did not beat or match 10 minutes... not by a long shot, but the good news is that I haven't broken anything (yet) either. Console panel is wood trim so I'll have to repair the standoffs.
    Yo,
    Rod
