    Another E23 Featured On Jalopnik's NPOCP - 84 733i

This time, the car is actually for sale on this board!

Looks like a clean car overall, I wish my paint was that uniform.

He got a way better NP vote, 91.5% vs 72.2% for my car.

That's a great deal. Some of the comments over at NPOCP were uninformed, that's for sure. These are unique old cars with presence and personality. Seems like a lot of other Jalop commenters agree.

I can't figure out the BMW hate, though. A 733i is not a great unknown - parts are pretty easy, they're well built & nearly bulletproof with that 5-speed. I particularly disagreed with a few comments. Like "ACURAvtecHONDA" recommending an Acura Legend 6-speed over this car. Legends are nice cars, I guess (if only they had some personality). Accountants need cars too.

His ad is great - seems like an up-front guy who's moving on to another project. IMHO I'd absolutely repair the HVAC & exhaust before posting it. Those problems are cheap & easy fixes, and he'd appeal to a wider variety of buyers if it could be driven away.

A lot of people in the comments section on jalopnik like to talk out their ass, thats completely normal.

I was reading one of the other NPOCP E23 features, I think it was for an L7, and someone said "all the comments here are either from people who have never owned a vintage bmw, or only know a friend of a friend who has."

I couldn't agree more. How hard is it to Googlize any comment before your feverish little fingers click the 'post' button? I'll bet half the collected wisdom of humanity is on the web somewhere, why not avail yourself of it?

The BMW hate is unbelievable on that website. And really the only issue is that they either can't afford them and wish they could, or could afford them but think they can't and wish they could, even though they, in fact, could. Not to mention they think we're privileged snobs snowing off our money, when we're really just quality snobs showing off the fact that we know what constitutes good design and true quality.

The ignorance is strong surrounding the Roundel.

You have a ton of people on there who are gay for the miata, then you have a ton of people who are e30 and e36 fanboys.

You should come hang out on oppositelock, its not full of 13 year old assholes hiding behind burner accounts. As far as I know I'm the only e23 owner there. I've had many people tell me to bring my 745i to upcoming meets in the spring so they can see it.

Count me in. The front page on Jalopnik is full of crap lately anyway. Was my favorite site before Kinja came along and no one had to approve you.

If one more person says my Gran Coupe looks like an Accord Coupe, I'm going to scream.

I have said this in the past, and every time I say it, Hardigree manages to find my post and comment against this but I've been saying jalopnik should leave gawker media and become its own blog. I think it'd get so much better not only shedding kinja, but gawkers hard core political agendas to. I don't think thats ever going to happen, I mean he's already said 3 times that it isnt.

It took me over a year to get approved for the front page and I'm not even sure how I did it. I dont post really often, plenty of people on oppo who post more than me who aren't approved. I got an article posted on the front page once but that didn't do it.

Find some random thread on oppo and leave a comment asking if a moderator can give you editor rights. Thats all it takes there.
