    new muffler on the cheap?

my stock muffler in my 325is has bit the big one. I need to replace it on the cheap. Is there some aftermarket muffler solution that takes 2 in and 1 or 2 out? I just want to hack off the old and clamp on the new so that I can take it to the garage to be inspected.

    Thanks,
    J.

Look for a used e36 M3 cat back exhaust. People take them off to put on aftermarket exhausts, and the stock M3 exhaust is a nice upgrade for non M cars. They are stainless, last practically forever, sound great (very civilized, until the higher revs), and can be had for less than $200. Win, win, win.

If you just want a replacement, an m3 exhaust is your best bet, the chrome tips look nice too.

Shameless plug: I have a used Remus exhaust for $300 + shipping obo.

It's just taking up space in my garage, and I could use the cash. I never had the chance to install it on my 325 before I sold it.

    From Bavarian Autosport:

Remus Exhaust System - Twin 90mm Round Tips - MUST CUT VALENCE
    Fits BMW : 325i / 325i Convertible / 325is / 328i / 328i Convertible / 328is / M3 / M3 convertible
From Austria, a performance boost with a German accent. The technicians at Remus have ...more info...

I did the old M3 exhaust route on my 325I, best bang for the buck.
