Hey guys, I have an '03 540iT M-sport. I need a good mechanic. Any suggestions for a local mechanic that first and foremost knows and understands the ins, outs and nuances of the E39. It is also important that the mechanic be trustworthy. I look forward to your suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Well, I'm not exactly sure who is the best, (which will be one of the first things I will do myself when I move back down in the area) but I love to work on cars, and I know the 540i's well. I'd be more than happy to turn a wrench when I get down there. I should be back in Aug.
Are you actually in Nashville? I do know of one place so far. I talked to one of the managers at Eurofix. They have 3 locations I believe, working on a 4th. I'd see if they can help. They seem pretty cool.
Don't bother going to the dealer, totally ripped me off last time I went there.
On the other hand, If you ever need anything detailed let me know, I own a shop in Smyrna.
Eurofix, Akin Bimmerworks, Autohaus, and a good ole' chap named Konrad down on river road are a few of the people I've dealt with.
Feel free to pm me I can handle anything you need
My dad owns Eurwerks in Nashville. His name is Chet,He has been working on European cars for almost 40 years. you can check out the shop at his website www.eurwerks.com
I've heard of this Konrad fellow. Any chance you've got a phone or address?
Any news on the local shops since this post was created? I am thinking of taking my wife's car (E92) for a 100k mile service.
Akin is down the road so what are your thoughts?
The previous owner of my car religiously took my e36 (and her 3 or 4 other BMW's) to Konrad's Services. I have not personally used him or met him, but my car is in pretty great shape.
I now own a shop in Nashville called German Motorworks...check us out on fb or give us a call. 6153833361
Also looking now - turbovrGTI, it's between you and JP Imports... no way in hell I'm going to the dealer.
