Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself real quick... I have been on the hunt for a manual transmission e39 for quite some time now and in the meanwhile have been lurking and trying to suck up as much knowledge as possible to prepare me for when I would actually finally find one! Well, about 2 weeks ago I ended up pulling the trigger on this Sterling Grey 530i that had about 100k miles on it when I got her. While i'm a newbie to BMW's I have been a long time fanatic and also own a 2003 Audi A4.
She's in great shape cosmetically and mechanically looks like she was taken care of like a princess with routine oil changes and maintenance based off its carfax from Kuni BMW.
She has a couple flaws but nothing too major... "check brake light," warning, chipping front emblem, bubbled shift knob, torn up driver side door seal... Otherwise she is 10/10 and drives great!
I have already ordered an E46 ZHP shift knob, a new front emblem, LED license plate lights and am ready to order M5 front and rear bumpers. I have always loved the M5 look but never been attracted to V8s for maintenance reasons and for the purpose of this being a daily driver it just wouldent be feasible on road trips... Now, don't get me wrong... MAINTENANCE FIRST! I already have her scheduled for a tune up at a local indy shop called "Peters Hobbies," unfortunately they were all booked up with the holidays so I was on a week long wait list... she goes in on Monday though.
And in case anyone's wondering, I paid $7800 + $152 for titling and registration.. a little steep but what can you do when these are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find. (there are 3 within a 750 mile radius between 2002-2003 years)
Anyways, shes gonna be a long time project car and I frequent the Portland metro area (Beaverton, Tigard, Wilsonville <--- where I live) so feel free to give me a wave or say hi!
And if you guys can recommend any good facebook pages or groups that are into meets and gatherings that would be awesome, I enjoy meeting new people.

Nice ride, make sure you add it to the registry in the stickies section.

Took you long enough

That is a nice e39 you have, just bought my first BMW couple weeks ago it's a 325i Sport wagon I traded my 2004 VW Toareag v8 and the guy gave me couple grand on top so I think it was a fair deal.
