One day it will be done
Imola red e46 ZHP coupe that someone in a silver e92 e35xi just offered to purchase while driving down the road. Didn't get a chance to stop and talk. Wondering if it was someone from the forum?

    Nice!

I have to get pics of my new 740i up...Hack berries are taking over my driveway so as soon as I wash it within hours the sap is back.

So how often do you make your way to Nashville area?

Yeah, it may be time for you to update lol! I am in Nashville about once every ten years haha! I pretty much stay around the East TN area, between Knoxville and Gatlinburg.

From where I'm at, you're practically in central TN. I work in Mountain City.

It's hard to update a pic when all these damn hack berries and bugs are causing sap on my cars within minutes of washing. So it will be another month or so.

I'm making plans to go to the Dragon at the end of October or November with a friend. Maybe we should try getting more people together??

Hows it going! Im currently in school up in Knoxville but live south of Nashville!

But onto the car. Last summer, at the local cars and coffee, I met a really amazing older lady who owned a garage full of new/old BMW's and she sold me her '97 328is Sport Package.

Congratulations! I've driven that car and you are in possession of an exceptional e36. It has been very well maintained and has a really good history. Jackie took great pride in making sure it was maintained properly.

I definitely had some amazing luck the day I bought it! I was stunned with the book of receipts she handed me, she even had the auto trader listing from the early 2000's when she bought it... Couldn't be more happy with it. Do any of you guys frequent Cars and Coffee?

Ah.. I've wanted to go to Cars and Coffee for a while myself. Just didn't have the time, college and work takes up all my time, but graduating soon so will have some free time! Probably will be moving up toward antioch so will see what is going on up there.

When do they meet? I've never been to one yet. I wish I could find a nice car like that! That's a great looking E36. I need new cats, and a transmission rebuild so I'm screwed right now. I might have to part it out

The cars and coffee meets every Saturday at the Thoroughbred 20 Theater in Coolsprings with the largest meeting being the first Sat of every month. The only thing that keeps me from going to most of them, other then school, is that it is from 8am to 11am...

    Hey Guys,

Owner of a E46 330i w/ 136k miles. Had the car for about 2 weeks and it's great. 1st BMW and hopefully will have it for awhile!

I bought the car in Cincinnati and drove it back to Nashville. On the way back got a SES light and pulled over to check it. P0171 and P1083, with no rough idle or symptoms. Being that I'm only getting the codes for Lean Mixture Bank 1 and Fuel Control Mixture Bank 1, Sensor 1, leads me to believe it might be a faulty O2 sensor or fuel filter/pump, but want to rule out a vacuum leak. CCV, valve gasket, and oil filter housing gasket have all been replaced recently. Intake boots were replaced recently too and DISA was inspected with vacuum valve still functioning properly (or so I was told). Haven't had the time to take it off yet, but might do so this evening. What I really wanted to see was if anyone in the area had a BMW specific code reader or smoke machine for testing. Thought about building my own small device to smoke test, but would be easier if someone else had one already. ha ha.

Anyone got either the tester or BMW code reader handy in the Nashville area?

I have all the stuff to read the computer in real time. I built my own smoke tester out of a hookah and a small air pump

But, I'm a little far from you.

Yeah, Bristol is a little farther than I'd want to go! I wouldn't mind building one either and have found a few good videos for it, but just wanted to see if anyone around here had one first. If they had one, odds are they've diagnosed a similar problem before and it never hurts to have a little extra expertise.

    Thanks for the response!

That's interesting. Got any more details on this?
