If there are enough of you guys interested in gauge pod units I'm sure we could figure something out

I will look into RHD units, looks more complicated than a simple mirror but nothing insurmountable.

Sounds like a few people may want gauges most likely makes sense to do that after the first production run of stock style surrounds are done. The caliper adapters are the best setup that's not quite available yet haha!

But looking at pics, I don't think it's a simple mirror image process either.
I'm guessing you'd need something to copy first.

Definitely more than a mirror image.

I'd say with the 3d printing, you might be able to just 'flip' the console dimensions to get it to suit us, then reposition the shifter hole.

Shame I don't have my spare bmw anymore, I'd send you the rhd shifter surround if it helped
I'm looking into options now on a OEM unit so I can help you guys out.

I just decided I was going to use a manual surround and a stock leather boot on the auto. I don't wanna mess with getting the gear indicator to work.

$55.47 from the dealer. And I'm pretty sure they're still available.

I sent a PM Greg, but I'm not sure it went through. Definitely interested in the surround and the brake brackets as well! Brian D at M5board.

+1 interest in a RHD one, as long as you're happy to post them to aus! (At my expense of course)

I wasn't happy with my first couple iterations so I've had the original 3D scanned and I'm converting the point cloud to a solid model so it can be modified for those of you who want custom modifications and so we get a pretty much exact replica. As for right hand drive stuff I'll need a donor part so I can scan it.

Don't be crazy! If I can get one, i'll happily send it to you, you're the one pioneering new stuff for the E34, and once I sort my life out, i'll own an E34 M5, hopefully before they start increasing noticeably in price.

Can source an auto one easily, would that be enough to be able to work out measurements if you planned on a manual one as well.

    Well said Stoney.
I was quoted several hours at $40/hour just to have a 3D model created of mine, even before printing.
As you say if Greg is happy to do the dev work then the least we can do is get the part to him.

I'd be happy to send mine, but it's actually broken and only held together by the leather.
Most of the locating tabs are also broken off so I don't know if it would be a very good donor.
    It could possibly be glued.

I've mentioned this topic to a few Aussies on facebook, and someone has kindly offered to send me a surround with my purchase of coilovers off them, I can then fwd that on to you (not the coilovers!)

I'd say that's not necessary. The RHD part is simply the same profile as the LHD but flipped over. The hole for the shifter is not flipped over, but remains to the left of center. Should be easy to do without having the actual part on hand.

Greg, I forgot the circled clip on mine is broken. I saved it, but am not looking forward to gluing it back together. I'll probably take one of yours, but not a high priority
