    Removing rear tint

So I've got rear tint on my car that has got a big raised line and a ton of bubbles so I'd like to just remove it, given how much its peeled can I just pull it off as 1 big sheet or do I need to follow specific instructions, or have a pro place do it?

Scrapping the glue usually ends up removing the defrost and antenna lines. Tint shops can steam the glue off. At least this is what I was told when I inquired about redoing the back window.

Go to a professional tinting shop and have them remove your rear tint, I had this done twice on two different cars.

Yes, do not attempt to remove yourself! A tint shop can do this with no problem.

And after they remove it, find some way to test the defroster, because half of mine does not work even though it was removed professionally. It went through it twice, so that may be 1 too many times.

Glue adhesive and some hard work getting it off.

My friend who tints windows for a living, charges even more to take off old tint, than new tinting itself.

broken defrost and antenna lines can be repaired with conductive paint and some patience

Yeah, except not really after your rear window was tinted. I think the guy cleaned left over glue off or something before putting the tint on the rear window because I only have the lower half of my defroster working.

It's so easy and no scrapping required.

Get your wife/girlfriends hairdryer, heat a corner and peel it back. The glue will soften with the heat and come away with the tint. Keep heating and peeling as you go. I was able to get the tint off the back window of my 750i in one piece using this method. I had a little bit of cleaning to do after to get the last little bit of the adhesive off but it's nothing a bit of meths cant take care of.
Just be patient. As your heating the tint you'll feel it letting go. Do pull to fast or it'll rip. Slow and easy is the way.

That may work for some but will not work for most. Tint shops use steamers to remove tint. The local place only charged me like $100 to remove all the tint in my estoril E38 IIRC.
