    E36 OBC work in E31?

    Hello fellow 8ers, I have a question, does an 18 bottom OBC from an E36 fit and work in my 8?

    1991 J-Spec mauritius blue 850i, CB01866, eibach lowering springs, brembo front brakes, MK wheels, 295-35-18 and 255-40-18, MK exhaust.
    2004 Chev 1500, Cam, headers, exhaust and extensive ongoing programming by me, 400hp est. And more coming
    2003 Chev Tahoe for the wife, just exhaust
    2001 custom build lotus variant with V8 by me, drivable but in progress
    1953 International L110, wife's project.

    Not a chance. The E31 version is just a display. The E36 version shows less information, lacks the service interval display etc, but actually performs the functions that are done by the EKM in the E31. The E36 has two connectors, and the E31 version just has one. I have plugged in one to see what would happen once, and didn't even get a single sign of life.

    Thanks, it looks the same, but it's a lot cheaper on eBay than the other ones
