Hardly ever request help, but im half way through an engine swap, Body is a 1992 e36 318is manual, engine was from a 1995 M52B28 328i sedan auto.
I cranked the car via the key on the starter to make sure everything was turning ok before i started for real, then started it for real, started after 2sec or so, then idled fine for 3secs and shut straight off.
Now i've read alot of threads that say its EWS, but the cars from 92 and doesnt have ews, the ecu im using has the EWS deleted.
Problem is i can no longer turn the car over by hand, crack is being locked, if i try to start the car it ticks once and wont budge.
Any help is appreciated, massive motovation killer when this happens
Everythings now plugged in* Older pic

Well i pulled the engine out of the car with the gearbox attached.
removed gearbox bolts, and no amount of pulling on it will seperate it from the engine
interesting tho, turning the crank at the front of the engine, it turns the gearbox around, so its deffinatly the gearbox shaft going into clutch/pilot bearing.

I soon will be swapping my M44b19 for an M52b28.
Anything else i should look out for?
