I did this a while back too. Great mod since I got different hid's and LBF came up for some reason.

    Thumbs up LBF Fix

Thanks ALOT, fix worked great. I used two crimp connectors and heat shrink to cover it. Was kinda a bitch in my 96 328i because of that foam/aluminum brace under the stearing column copled with my huge hands. Plus I lost one of the plastic nuts that hold the module in place so its just chillin there. But all and all a great DIY.

    Thanks Again!

Is it possible to fix the Brake light failure in a similar way? maybe different color wires, etc.

Are you getting the msg as a result of aftermarket tail lights or is the bulb socket making poor contact? If it's the bulb socket, just add some solder where the contact point has corroded/came apart and you should be good to go.

Just did the LBF fix. Thanks for the write up. Was very helpful, however it was still a PITA for my 6'5" ass to crawl in there. I also found out my "Chime" had been disconnected. All is well now! But i really hope i never have to do it again.

I took out my HIDs and put H1s back into the ellipsoids and changed my fuses from 15A back to the stock 7.5A. Should I still be getting the LBF? I thought the H1s provided enough resistance and I don't have a set of 9006 bulbs to double check.

This is going to be one of my summer projects hopefully. It is starting to annoy me (continually for 2 years... )

that's an odd problem... I wouldn't think you'd still be getting the LBF . This fix will work though, since it basically bypasses the check for the low beams. I did it and it worked great! Now I just have that stupid tail light failure message from my aftermarket tails and they're Depo too!

    Props to the TS!

    It worked!!!

    Now the LBF is gone!!

I saw this as the 1st solution, beside the 'cut the printlanes inside of the CCM', and the 'cutting etc under the fuse holder'.

The dealer tried 2 times to recode the CCM for xenon, but failed (luckely it was free of charge)

Just read about this, after a lot of research this seems the best and costs $0. Thinking about doing this in the morning...did anyone ever had any problems?

Wholly Cow!! Getting access to that module and connector was quite a time consuming challenge. I think it would have been much easier (on my lower back) if I had removed and gotten the seat out of the way. Oh well, enough crying for now, because it's time to celebrate - No More LBF Light (and watch football) !!

Thanks to the original posted for this guide and the people who support it..

Yes you can, but if you ever want to reverse it, or just to do it correctly, make the plugs.

I read all of page 1 and must have missed something. What does LBF stand for.
I imagine Low Beam Fuse, but I can't be certain. How about CCM?
