creaking/crunching sound when turning at slow speeds....when cold

Not sure if the power steering pump or strut bearings are toast, but I cannot tell where this noise is coming from. Steering reservoir is clean and full. It only happens at slow speeds and sometimes the noise is there, usually after the car has sat for a bit. Has anyone experiencd the same issues? Chassis has 140k miles.....

Most likely your strut mounts need replaced. Mine were super noisy and did exactly what you were describing.

I had the same thing and it was my strut bearings. Low speed turns would sound like the spring was being wound up then clunk/pop when the tension would build up to high. While you are in there camber plates are a good idea. I didn't do it and regret it pretty often.

Thanks, I pretty much figured this was the case, thanks for confirming. I have new bearings ready to install....may look into camber plates as well
