Hi all,
I seem to have a motion sensor bracket that has half given up. One of the tabs busted off holding that headliner motion sensor in place, and now it's hanging all cattywampus...if that's the way you spell that.
Anyway, having a hard time finding a part for the bracket, but also want to know: do you have to remove the entire headline to replace the plastic bracket? Is there a DIY out there that anyone knows about?
Thanks much,
Eric

If I recall you can pull down on the headliner just enough to turn that piece diagonally and fit it up through the hole and then reposition it where it needs to be, can't remember if it need bent just a tad, then snap it all back together (with the cover and whatnot).
I feared the headliner and I ordered a part from EAC and it is the part that goes on the motion sensor and what is broken is the part in the headliner. So I resorted to double sided 3M tape!!!!
I love driving these cars but I'm about ready to give up on them. Just don't have the time to baby this thing when I have 3 vehicles, 2 kids, wife, RV, big house and 3 acres of property. Oh yeah and a full time job--- UNCLE!!!!!!
At the end of the day it is just a stupid car!
I am having the same problem. Does anyone have a clear answer how to replace that bracket?
I had the same issue but thankfully the broken tabs were still attached on the clip. I jb welded it and it's been holding up. Hopefully you have the broken parts still and can jb weld it. Otherwise check junk yard maybe.

Same issue happened to me. Ordered the part and looking into replacement instructions.
+1 on these directions. I just did this on my 03 525i. Bought bracket from FCP euro. First one arrived with one tab already broken. FCP euro sent a replacement immediately. There is an arrow on top of new bracket that points to front of car. Pull headliner down a tad, turn diagonally and fit it back it. Takes some finesse, but not difficult.
