Coilovers get here Tuesday per Fedex. I'm excited.

Ordered me some LED's for the 3rd brake light retrofit as well, tired of all the burnt out bulbs.

Took advantage of the strangely warm December day in the 60's to put in some work in the new garage.

Gave it a quick wash before it be up on stands for a few weeks:

Completed the coupe owners right of passage

Then the suspension came off for coils to arrive tomorrow.

Got a bit further and removed the mufflers and a few bits to drop the subframe to take to my shop for the weld ins but lost my light and the garage doesn't have power yet. Hopefully I can get the owners to run it soon.

Ohh and some other shots since moving into the new place (since we all like to look at pictures):

    The new work space

And the second box of rims showed up 5 weeks after the first from Germany

And a Christmas present to myself

Was it hard to solder in the new lights? I've been nervous to do this myself.. Can I also ask what resistor set up you did?

It was tedious mostly. If you've done electrical stuff before its not too hard. I'd prolly be able to do it under 2 hours my second time start to finish. Resistor is a 7w 22 ohm. And they are 5mm 9k MCD red leds

Rear suframe was dropped today and taken to the shop for weld in toe/camber adjustments.

Front coils are in and waiting patiently as well

And took some clearance measurements. 5mm spacers (thanks Randy!) are used here to fit a "rear" up front with the 7.5" barrels clearing.

Also dropped in some fresh NGK spark plugs and found that my intermittent cylinder three misfire was most like due to the coil being loose and having a poor ground. Woohoo!

Let's hope then reinstallation to proper torque solves it.

What I wouldn't give to have that kind of space to work in... Or even a water spigot just to avoid some public displays of idiocy trying to wash my car without one...

Anyway. Flipping nice job going on there, guy. Must be rewarding to see the effort you put into each step paying off with some quality results.

Great work and beautiful coupe. Can't wait to see it done. What length springs/spring rates did you go with?

Edit: just added you on Instagram too

The space certainly is nice. I'm coming from a downtown apartment with only on street parking so I completely understand. You should try NoRinse Carwash from detailedimage.c For tour washing needs sans hose access.

Everything is slowly coming together, but I still have a bunch ahead of me.

I got 2000mkoop's old setup. The GC setup for an Mcoupe. He told me 450/600 iirc. Will prolly get pn's and inquire with GC to confirm.

    Edit: accepted

Beautiful Coupe! I was looking at that one last may. Glad it made it to the forums, excellent deal! Now a word of caution, the amount of caster that the offset bushings add on is quite a lot. I'm almost regretting it on my coupe. Massive steering response, keep both hands on the wheel at all time.

either way, love the restoration, had to do a little to my coupe, definitely not like this, so I'm glad you're passionate!

I also have hybrid GC camber/castor plates. So we'll see how it turns out in the end.

Yep, I used my UUC camber/caster plates to dial down the caster, so at least it doesn't rub. We'll see when I get some time, I might put centered ones on, much easier with the tool I made for pulling/putting those on.
