Did some things over the past few days.

And still some more to go... it's not loud enough as is. Hoping the break in a bit more and grow a bit.

Ohh and I got the flasher flipped about and working.

Still need to get some videos of it.

Bought a 2000 M coupe a couple of months ago and am developing my goals / plan. Amazing car and build. Thanks for the inspiration!

Off topic for the Coupe but the Daily got some love this weekend with some bolt-ons and a new license plate.

Definitely wakes the 4Runner back up.

Wow.... looks like photobucket stock tanked enough that they re-branded all their hosted photos and unlocked them again. Not amazing, but better than nothing. Maybe I'll start working on this car again and post some stuff after getting the V8 in the 4Runner together.

The sagging headliner and plethora of interior bits for the Coupe have me working on it again. It's good to be back after a much too long hiatus

Did you get a reprieve, or is that the crib in the first two pictures?

I get a few hours each weekend allowance typically. How I use them is up to me but I make up and do all the awful chores like the grass when it's 100+ heat index

So the car's finally back together minus a few details that are getting ironed out. Did a shakedown drive last night and it felt great to be back driving it again with a lot of little things fixed.

A pet peeve that I had since buying the car was the driver seat back rocking. Everyone swore to me its the bushing, but I had replaced them early into my ownership. It seems that my car for whatever reason has an issue with spot welds other than the floor pan. I found the seat pan also had some broken welds which were taken care of when the seat was apart for leather work.

The headliner of course was fixed as part of this whole project. Along with A, B, & C pillars with a little extra from some Euro sun visors to get rid of the airbag labels, E39 ambiance lighting to the front dome light, and figure I had extra so did the hatch insert as well

Finally figured out the Homelink to a non-M modified fog light switch

Hand the interior gutted so I figure now would be the best time to run the wiring to relocate my washer tank for future engine compartment space.

Interior was out for the headliner, and stereo work as well as putting in Kelvin's extended leather set after some retrofit work to make it accept the door airbags and fixing some of my own leather parts with products from Colourlock and some Alcantara Mstitched boots from Redline Goods to pull in the suede theme

And then there was all the stereo work.

Still a few details to finish up on for a few more details, but this is the major work done. And man am I glad its done!

And I changed the oil this morning in the 01 Z3M and then took the bike out in 50 degree sunshine here in NV. I'm jealous!

This thread needs an update. I've FINALLY finished all my interior work, the crowning jewel is finally installed and just waiting for me to have some time at the right time of day to go get some glamour shots.

While we wait on that, here's a fun little retrofit for my S52 chassis from its younger brother S54.

    Part Numbers:
    Belly pan: 51712495551
    Support bracket: 51712491061
    Expanding nut: 63171367868(12ish)
    Screws: 07147129161 (12-15ish)
    Body nut: 07129904150 (2x)
    Oil drain cover: 51718268897

I used a few M5 rivnuts in lieu of the expanding nuts as RealOEM sent me astray with the pc# 8/13 in the box for them in the diagram. I also used M8 rivnuts in the cross brace for the front to mount holes. They required clearancing the holes in my S52 subframe just a smidge as well.

I think I may have made this comment before, but isn't the S52 oil drain plug in a different location than the S54? Not a big deal if you do it from above with an evacuator.

    It is.

Coming from SUVs and Trucks for the last few years of dailys, skid plates have to come off every oil change anyway as does my wife's Civic belly pan, at least this one is plastic and light.

Long term goal when I build my turbo motor, it will likely get an S54 pump and pan for the dual pick up and it will align with the belly pan.

Awesome work Robb. A little eerie yet heartwarming to see these familiar pieces in a new home. How is the color match between the plastic of your Euro glovebox and my old center console?

That's actually my complete center since the whole thing is leather wrapped. The boomerangs found a new home in Colorado with Nathan. The console otherwise is up in the attic. The Colourlock dye actually made my original stuff a smidge dark, but I realized this after the cards and pods were fully installed

I like your steering wheel. I have a 2000 M roadster and have never like the stock steering wheel. I would like to keep the air bag and have been looking around. When I saw yours it caught my eye. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

The beige leather boomerangs found a good home.

The wheel was worked by Shepott and provided.

The wheel is an E46 sport steering wheel out of a 99-00ish E46 328. Shepott modified the hub to fit an E36 style slip ring. Unfortunately I didn't realize until after the wheel showed up that the E46 is still a single stage only airbag so I had to defeat the slow speed circuit in the column. The steering wheel controls require a E39/38 slip ring for the added pins. The controls themselves also require work to change all the buttons to a single circuit and correct resistance for a PAC SWI-RC1 to recognize each.

Shepott added the thumb bumps and did the flat bottom added the perforated/smooth leather and tri-stitch at my request as well.

Finally finished up the SWC changes and re-centered the wheel as I had installed it back on a few splines off of center.
