Bought my dream car finally June 2013. It was a little rough, but I fell in love with it immediately.

Backstory:
Specs:
2000 Z3 Mcoupe (E36/8)
Steel Gray exterior (400) Custom order
Dark Beige Oregon (R3SN)
1 of 1
944xx Miles at purchase
100% stock, save for a set of Billy sport front struts
Original owner was a Doctor from DC (per business cards found under seats) and it was apparent he didn't "care" for the car like he should have being that he ordered it SPECIFICALLY for him originally. Guy (technically 2nd owner) I ended up buying it off a dealer lot and put only 300 miles on it before, what I understand to be, not having the desire to put the work into bringing it back to its proper state.
Issues:
Transmission wasn't very smooth, clutch point was at the floor, throw out bearing was shot, minor rust, curbed rims, dent in hood, scrapes on pass rear fender, tear in driver bottom bolster, misc broken/missing interior bits, dinged/misaligned bumper, missing undertray, the list goes on, but I'll get to some pictures:
For sale listing photo:
Car has obviously been neglected for a while, and I thought I would document its rebirth. I'm horrible at taking pictures 90% of the time, but will try to get them through this process. I have wanted one of these awesome cars for years now and it just so happen I find a 1of1 so close to me I couldnt pass it up.

This is gonna be good. Sub'd
Looks like the start of something awesome!
Where at in Norfolk are you? I live in Newport News. I love to come check it out sometime.
i must take credit for talking Rob int this... sold his pretty slick tastefully modded E36 328i what, a year ago, and almost got lost in 4runner modding culture... i kept harping on him, when are you getting a bimmer, when are you buying that M3...All i heard was, i only want a shoe, nothing else will do, so until you buy it for me, fuk you too... rhymed just like that... then he'd spot them and some were meh, others were already done up and stupid expensive, then he up this one, i was like quit BSin and get it, you kno you wont regret it... i guess that was the nudge he needed... next thing i know, like 2 weeks later he buys it and few weeks later we're changed the clutch and all kinds of stuff..
so excited for him, and to see what he does with this beast. Theyre such sick cars, i could never own one, id get locked up instantly. street legal gokart is how i describe it... woot woot...
i are very excite.!

Looking forward to the resurrection. That car was rough- hope you got a killer deal.
Mods: Remus 76mm exhaust, CDV delete, ASA AR1 18in staggered wheels, Turner 12 mm spacers, custom red tails, Kenwood deck/Sirius/BT/USB, ZHP knob, Redline boot, LeatherZ armrest, Amsoil all around, red needles, Akebono Euro brake pads, 34k original miles!
No need for the 15w50....10w40 maybe but normal is 5w30
Love the color...
I bet a ride around some entrance and exit ramps will get that CAI et al off your list....
and put FI near the top.
/.randy
Thanks. I'll PM ya
let's hope
Me too.
Stay tunes. I think so.
I used to run 20w50 in my 328. I can't fathom putting in 5w30. Ugh.
Yea yea, just need to get that powerball ticket and it will.

Love it! Looks like the awesome beginning to a great project. Steel Gray<3

Subscribed. Nice to see one of these being brought back to life.
For a DD I prefer SG/beige over SG/imola, so I think you made a good choice. SG is the only color I like a beige interior in

Sweeeeett color! Congrats on the ride, glad to see some love going into it.
Whatchutalkinbout!?!? I'm building stuff all the time
Why I actually *just* finished building something for myself
Next up on the roster is a 2000 ///M Coupe that's going to be fitted with my former Dinan/Vortech supercharger system (after getting a head gasket, rings and coated bearings)
Robb, is there even any brake fluid in that reservoir?

Steel Gray is amazing. Thanks
I usually dislike beige as well, but I think it goes well with the SG. My DD is also a beige interior.... I dunno how this has happened to me. It's not my first pick for interior colors, but I dont think I'd want Imola either. I dont DD it so something more "exciting" wouldn't be a bad thing.
Thanks
building sure. posting? I haven't seen anything lately.
Feel free to shoot that Dinan over to me to keep it warm for you while you do that other work. No rush on completing it, take your time, just ship the SC kit to me ASAP to make sure the bearings stay rotating
Second to last picture, line is visible, about 1/8 from the "max" line

Thanks for all the compliments guys (and lurker girls??). The underpanel showed up last night. Still waiting on the filters, its the first time Amazon Prime failed to deliever within 2-days, weird. Also figure I need to go grab a filter to block gasket to swap in too while I'm at it.

It's a S54 SC kit..... I'll hold onto it for him instead. Although my bearings and a valve adjustment are on the list first as well.
Can't wait to see you bring this thing back to life even more, I am kinda in the same boat bringing my 01 back to her glory.
