    WTB Headlight Adjuster repair kit

Anyone have these lying around? I need to do some repairs to my headlights and BMW says that there are none in either the US or Germany. Otherwise I guess I will just have to fabricate something.

    Thanks
    Dave

None available anywhere. Me and a few others have used 3/8 inch copper caps to replace the mounting thinga-majigs.

Thanks. Yeah I figured I would probably end up fabricating. The parts supply for these cars is getting problematic. I was able to get more parts for my 74 Jaguar XKE than my 97 840ci!

My housing was cracked when I bought the car and ended up failing catastrophically on the highway at a high speed.
I bought a new housing around 3 months ago and it came with new adjusters in it.
If you don't want to fabricate your own parts, the housing is easy to change out and costs $180.
It is part number 1 at this link:

Thanks - I may end up going this route if all else fails.

The housings are only half of the equation. If you want new "thimbles" you've got to spring for a new lens assembly.

If you just need something to replace the adjuster wheels, I have plenty. Contact me by regular email please, "max@finemotoring.com".

I actually have all the parts needed to completely rebuild the headlights, just don't have time to trim everything and make up a sensible kit.

The hexagonal stainless pieces below make great replacement adjusters. They're threaded for 5mm, but you can drill them out a bit and use them on the remains of the stock splined shafts. They have 2 set screws and are 10mm across the flats, easy to adjust with a 10mm wrench. They come with a 1.5mm allen wrench.

(There's something odd about the image post function, getting URL error messages)
How come the middle half of any project always takes the most time?

Max, do you still have any adjuster wheels (thimbles) for the E 31 headlights? Thank you.
