Porsche 997 GT3 Guards Red - Detailed by Oakes

Just finally getting some time to get around to my writeups, that I am very far behind on. We are all car guys here and we can all appreciate a vehicle such as a GT3 that has been thoroughly enjoyed.

This particular example contacted me to get it looking new again, as well as putting some new rubber on her wheels and protecting the finish with none other than CQuartz Finest!

As you will see in the many attached photos, we received the GT3 in it's driven and enjoyed state. We then prepped the entire vehicle, under carriage and all for a concourse level detail and paint correction, to be finalized with CQFinest.

I have done my best to arrange the photos in the timeline they were taken. They can do the talking from here! As she arrived...

As you can see, lots of road grime, brake dust and low luster from the paint. The prep process was commenced with a full decon, deironize and polishing prep. Here are the before and afters of the wheels wells, which required several hours of attention. All the plastics and rubber were treated and dressed with CarPro Perl, all exposed paint cleaned and treated.

Now on to the paint condition, which was certainly desparate. Start off with a couple of befores, and a few 50/50 shots. The after photos of the direct paint condition were before Eraser and Finest application.

Now for the finished photos, starting with reflection/gloss photos. These photos were taken after three coats of CQFinest applied to the body. The full profile photos will follow!

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I have!

Beautiful work Oakes. The shine from the three coats of Cquartz is just breathtaking. Weird how the flourescents take that gorgeous red and mute it down to a flatish orange. There's one shot, about 10 from the end, sort of a back quartering shot, that shows off the colour perfectly. I'd give my spleen for one of those, or even to back it out of your shop.

Thank you sir! I agree on the light affecting the color, I don't do any editing aside from watermarking or cropping on the pictures. Honestly, I don't even know how to, capture as best as I can with the DSLR Camera.

That CSL is one of the coolest cars I've had here, expect a thread on it soon as I'm working on it now!
