Someone on Bimmerboost.com copied Jens' (the eBay seller) idea and made his own version of the Jaguar XJR setup work on his 540i. We're still waiting for further documention, pics, a full write-up, if he's planning on selling his adapter plates and then letting those of us who wanna upgrade complete the rest of the work, etc. In the meantime I just finally got my buddies engine off the cherry picker and onto an actual engine stand, so soon enough I'll be seeing what I can do to get the intake plenum mated to the stock heads and attempting to clean it up before I consider spending money on things like the SC getting ported and rebuilt, repairing the fiberglass work on the plenum/intake cover, etc.[/QUOTE]

I`ll be interested in seeing that info as i have a full s/c setup from the XKR and i also have a donor engine to work on.
I have been dead slow with this, i did leave it at a friends workshop hoping he might find the time to design and make some manifold adapters but i have it back home now as nothing was done in that time.

Either fab your own turbo kit, or prepare to pay approx. $20K.

Project is on indefinite hold. Among other things I moved from MD to OH and I no longer have a partner to complete the project with. Basically I need someone who can AUTOCAD design the adapters and CNC them. I have too many other things on my plate at the moment to move forward on my own.

i might be able to help. i'm an engineering student upstate new york, and have been working on something kinda similar. currently drawing up plates to try and fit some ITBs on my M60 this summer. 3d printed prototyping too. and will be making plates at the machine shop at school all for cheap. not saying i could hook you up, but i have flange and everything for the m60 side measured and mocked up in solidworks. i wouldn't mind designing stuff from the other side either if you gave me some dimensions, all the way out to 3d printed prototype for the cost of plastic and shipping. didn't read thruogh the whole thread TBH, but i saw your last post and that sounds awfully similar to what i've been working on lately. i would PM you, but it says "license suspended," and i didn't know if you were able to PM users.... sry

jawnswagg3r- while you are at it, why not design a turbo kit for our M60/M62 E34's?

i'm trying to get as much power out of my m60b44 as i can before entering the expensive world of FI lol. but for now...... ITB adapter! bolt on to m6x and come to a 46mm OD and 42mm ID, to be mated to GSXR 750 throttle bodies. IMG_3484.jpgIMG_3484.jpg

I've a local guy who was looking into doing this project who has access to a 5-axis cnc machine and can draw them up, no issue. I can put him into contact with you if you're interested.

With enough money, anything is possible. However, do you really want to boost pressure so much on mainly old and tired engines. I see plenty of bottom end rebuilds if this comes to fruition.

I think there is an outfit near in Long Beach or Huntington Beach (LA) that is turbocharging the M6x engine. BMW Performance or something like that, have not been on their website for years. They had videos with dyno pulls I think.

M6x engines have gone through hell and back, it'll be fine.

Besides the timing gear, there's nothing really weak about a 150k+ BMW V8.

This is an entirely dead thread. Stop posting in this damn thread people.

Look for the Toolman thread on his kit. That's the only top-mount type blower kit thats 'available' for M6x and even so its a quiet private sale situation. Don't expect to find prices and a link to click, you have to contact him privately about it, he has no website or anything like that. I dunno if its compatible w/ M60 as its was built around M62's but even if it needs tweaks I can't imagine they'd be large.
