    Does a 1999 328i (E46) Have an M52 or M52TU?

    I'm considering buying a 1999 328i sedan (E46) with a blown head gasket. Does this car have an iron block M52, or the all-aluminum M52TÜ? Yes, I searched but didn't find a conclusive answer. My wife used to have a '99 323iC (E36) and it had an M52. But I'm not sure about the E46.

    You should have the "Technical Update" engine with the double Vanos and aluminum block with iron sleeves.
