I would start with the wires next to the tailgate hinges, as that's where they are flexed and most likely to break.
Someone else may be able to tell you whether the wires for the wiper are next to the left or right hinge.
AFAIK, the pump for the rear window is on the windshield wiper tank under the right front fender behind the wheel-well lining.
The plastic covers come off with a Torx 20 driver, take a look at the photos here
http://www.flickr.com/photos/8311075...7630670740902/ to see how.
After you remove the covers, unwrap the wire bundles and look for the break(s) and short(s).
Pay close attention when you remove the hinge covers; they are very difficult to replace.
I would say the wires under the rest of the trim are probably ok. They aren't flexed and don't move.
The black trim around the window in the tailgate can only be removed by breaking the three tabs on the sides, or several
tabs under the top piece. Once broken, the trim is near impossible to keep back on.
It won't be easy.
