All guides are metal at their base, but have tacked on plastic.

Your M60 has plastic guides (Same material as M62, but has no U-guide because idler) too so in the next 10 years they might end up in your pan thanks to dry rot.

Why I chose the m60b40 with the double-row chains and a proper idler-sprocket between the valley .

    Over the m62TUb44!!!

Its pretty darn easy to see why ......

I don't see why. Frankly I love the tu motor. And if it means I have to do guides every 200k miles, so be it. The added power and refinement are worth it to me. But to each his own.

I hear you GSX, also worth considering the engine prices. I can get a low mile m60 for well under $500.00 thrash the crap out of it and put in another for less than parts for a timing chain job. Not to mention the torture they can endure. Dubmd and his turbo e34 is a testament to that.
Thanks again for the 750iL brakes.

Its a fairly easy way to give these old cars an update. How's your car coming along? I'm surprised I haven't seen any postings from you on the Facebook page! E38 empire.

Combination of screws, plastic bonding and flexible filler. Here's some shots of it primered up and prepping for final sanding, washing before paint.

Out from paint and now hardening overnight. Very thankful to the weather maker for this 80 degree dry heat. The paint looks great!!

Out from the detail all buffed up after paint on the Alpina lip and ACSchnitzer rear apron. Full exhaust with ACSchnitzer tips not yet installed. Will finally come together with the H&R lowering springs and my 750il brakes with braided lines.

Thanks, I suppose I am! Thanks for your support.
Need to put a bit of work into the rear splitter mounting to the bumper. Was warped and difficult to mount. Got the height right for the AC Schnitzer exhaust instal tomorrow.

Thanks a lot. Really is quite surreal after 5 years of long-distance battling because of a bad decision. So now I have the car and I can do what I was supposed to be doing all these years and cruising with a hot chick!

Afternoon cruise through Mt. Hope with my 2 year old. Awesome roads cool places to visit. This is why I have this car....

Quick question, can this MAF be upgraded?
I at least need a new one.
Anyone have a line on on of these?
My wiring harness is out of a 98 740 I.
