I had to replace the clutch.

It used to be without walls and construction equipment was parked in there. The walls came in later and so did the special windows.
The owner told me that he found them somewhere and put them in because he liked them. That's the only reason.
The posts are about 10' high and the top vehicle sits approx 15' high when stacked.
I went and picked up the paperwork for a building permit to build my garage. I am planning on a 28 X 36 foot detached structure "2 car/2 door) which will be designed to be architecurally similar to the existing home. Pretty straight forward in terms of construction. I would like to put a lift in it so need to plan on height...14 ft sound like enough? Also a small attached utility room for HVAC and a vertical compressor would be ideal. I can't go any wider than 28 ft and a 1008 sq ft seems about right as our house is 2350 sq ft. I plan to use the space for my work on my three cars. I have 57 MB 190SL that I want to restore so it will occupy one bay and the other bay I will use for my Lincoln and BMW. Our home also has a 2 car carport so I will have plenty of space for my "collection" of toys!
If any of you guys who have suggestions or afterthoughts after building you own I would be delighted to have that advice. Thanks!!
Off topic...I love this joke being trained as scientist:
Heisenberg and Schrödinger get pulled over for speeding.
The cop asks Heisenberg "Do you know how fast you were going?"
Heisenberg replies, "No, but we know exactly where we are!"
The officer looks at him confused and says "you were going 108 miles per hour!"
Heisenberg throws his arms up and cries, "Great! Now we're lost!"
The officer looks over the car and asks Schrödinger if the two men have anything in the trunk.
"A cat," Schrödinger replies.
The cop opens the trunk and yells "Hey! This cat is dead."
Schrödinger angrily replies, "Well he is now."

Almost finished with winter (Florida/Porsche) garage. Also some pics of summer (Wisconsin/BMW) garage. Both have been fun projects that help get me out to the garage spending time on the cars.
What a clean garage... and these 2 German brothers are stunning

Now THAT'S a garage!!!! And then some. WOW, very nice! Good job!
These two garages (JK840) are of a standard to which we should all aspire - stunning but not overstated, clean and perfectly functional. Congratulations!

The plan is to go Timm style, bricks everywhere.
After we get whittled down by property-line set-backs, we are left with a meager 350 square feet of shed.
Not to worry, this is SoCal (weather), brick friendly.
The shed will get roll up doors, more paddock than garage.

In the background at the edge of the bluff, up goes a high, security fence.
Fyi, an early plan was to make the building's rear wall all glass, giving UPB46 a stunning backdrop.
However a friend of mine, who fancies himself a movie buff, thought that was a terrible idea.
Didn't elaborate.

I can report a huge increase in tools - I bought a 90 Quid socket set - should have got one years ago, no more searching through boxes of old stuff:

re: watch this space

The Boss devolved my external garage plan into simple parking with a view.
Not such a loss in southern california, no significant precip for two-thirds of year.
Plan B is temporary structure(s) as required for temporary projects.
Last house it was backhoe and bobcat, this time bobcat and excavator...
...versus dirt pile and tree roots.
Doing more in three minutes than I could by point shovel in three days.
Nearly a mile of rebar.
