ODO & Trip not lighting up

I did search but didn't see similar through the first few pages.

Leaving work today I noticed that my ODO and Trip-o-meter were not lit. Other lights in the dash work and the background light(s) work and so does the dimmer.

I can see that the numbers are changing, they are just very dim.

Is there a light bulb that illuminates the ODO and Trip or is there something wrong with them..?

There are two small bulbs that light up the odo/trip odo. I believe they are the same bulbs as the other warning lights/indicators.

I had one burn out on me and it did what yours is doing. It's nice to get a problem with a cheap&easy fix once in awhile!

I just fixed mine last weekend. Grab 2 of these: 62111391260

Just pull out 2 screws in top of instrument cluster, and wiggle it out.

This was really helpful to fix my odo being unreadable. Most of the articles about these symptoms are about the headlight resistor, but this was a much easier fix if it is just the odo/tip that are dim.

Thanks for the part numbers - Amazon Prime same day for $9!

The only tip I would add is to reinsert the torx driver that you pull the screws into their holes and then pull forward to remove the cluster. That was much more effective then wiggling for prying the edges for me.

Pretty easy to fix. Don't even need to take the steering wheel off to get the gauge cluster out if you are careful with it
