2" might be just enough clearance, I'd just be a little worried about creating some sort of weird steering bind by moving the shaft around

if frame rail clearance is an issue, I plan to V-band the manifolds. we'll find out this week!

Been getting alot of work done since the last update, please excuse my explosion of a garage. Engine is in with my fab'd mounts, Turbo is on and the hot side is nearly plumbed. Acquired and installed LS6 manifold, Truck Cable TB, Alternator, Alternator bracket, PS pump, oil drain line and intercooler.

    Intial mockup, theres room!:

Hot side manifolds, collector, and downpipe (4") welded up. Still need to clean all this up. there is still interference issues with the steering shaft, but I think is is possible to move it down, if not, I will remake the #7 running to clear.

Intercooler mounted at 45º with a custom bracket. I'm going to have to do some type of extractor vent for all this heat.

Intercooler piping and BOV are en route, wastedgates and Fueling is next. two walbro 450s with 80cc injectors for e85.

No real big updates lately, I did manage to get the lower mount for the radiator fab'd up for the trunk, stuck the fuel rails on, and the wastegates and associated tubing came in. Also the intercooler piping and BOV is done. I have to start tackling the steering shaft issue soon, but the lack of motivation is real lol.

hopefully I can get back into this thing this weekend.

    New Pics!

Doing the wiring harness now, fixed the steering shaft issue with a new #7 runner, got the fuel injectors (96LB'rs), map sensor (2 bar from a cobalt), IAC and TPS in. Oil Drain on the turbo is finally complete after swapping angled fittings numerous times. been tackling the fuel system, but the fittings from the china rails to the 8an feed have been a hassle. got the right ones on the way now.

A little update, car is almost ready to turn over for the first time! I'm just waiting for the ECU with the base tune to come back from Vengeance Racing here in Cumming, GA.

Firstly, I needed to make a wiring harness. LT1swap.com, along with many google searches was the key, luckily, I convinced the JY I purchase the motor from that it wasn't worth the effort for them to take it off the engine, and I didn't need it. Freebieeeeeeeeeee /Monster Garage.

    ">

Fuel system was the next battle. I wanted to run dual fuel pumps, but did want to buy the bracket. well see how this works. dual Walbro 450's in stock tank locations, 8an feed, 6an return, Aeromotive FPR, china fuel rails, FIC 1000cc injectors.

    ">

Made a little Bracket for the FPR to sit on

    ">

    ">

Next I plumbed in the wastegates (check out the world's rustiest Bilstiens.

    ">

I started thinking, with all this power, smoke in the cabin may be an issue. also, I needed the car to do a better job of keeping water out than it was. I made some aluminum panels, welded up all the holes on the interior of the chassis, and seam sealed everything I could.

    ">

I then painted the interior with single stage machinery grey paint.

    ">

I also ordered a new driver seat should be in this week, Black Cobra Evolution.

Then I went to TOD for a weekend (I love this place, I'm on the yellow bike)

    ">

There is still alot to do, the chassis harness is almost complete, the drivers position (shifter, seat, pedal set, ebrake) is almost complete. rear mount radiator system needs completion, and the brake systems still need parts. but all in all were getting there!

I cannot see them. Make sure you have them set to public.

She Runs! Huge relief when using a Junkyard engine. Started her up without the turbo and no accessories on last Sunday to blow out any assembly lube, welding slag, or grinding dust before running it through my turbo. Sounded good, no strange knocks or noises. couple fuel leaks that were just fittings that needed to be tightened, Otherwise shes looking good!

Finishing up the new idler pulley bracket now. Alternator up high and without waterpump spacers, I couldn't find a belt that would clear the Thermostat housing, and move the positive terminal a comfortable distance away from the valve cover. so I made and aluminum bracket that sits between the thermostat and the water pump, to push the belt over a bit. It may interfere with the DP the way it is now, but if it does I can get a longer belt and push the pulley over some more and remove the excess material to make room.

The car is getting really close to finished for the season. its Debut event is feb 23, and there's a lot to do to get it there! Serpentine belt is all set now with the idler pulley I made, also got 20an lines for the rear mount radiator, and generally finished small things in the engine bay. Driveshaft is made and in, exhaust is done, just finished the mounting and ducting for the rad. I also switched to a welded 3.91 diff. If anyone wants to buy a 3.39 LSD, ill sell it to ya! There will definitely be some things that I wanted to do that wont get done this season, but I'm sick of not driving. One being fixing the rear bash bar (wall taps crushed the sides), another being painting the engine bay. Ill wait until something breaks to pull the engine out again now that its in and running.

    Still Left:
    Paint trunk interior area
Reinstall trunk area parts (rad, battery, quarter panels, etc)
Ceramic coat exhaust tubing (ceracoat kit)
    Change differential pinion seal (leaking)
    Vinyl wrap
    Dyno Tune at Vengance Racing
clean up interior and some wiring

    Pics!

    Updated engine pic

    4" oval exhaust

    Radiator Ducting

Front the font with the URAS hood vent. I actually wanted trackspec vents, but I have zero room under the hood for them to fit.

OK maybe they are now. if I updated this thread more often, maybe I'd remember how to make them work when I post.

I feel like you’re not supposed to run your rad lines like that, creates a high point and will ultimately create a giant air pocket. I don’t know much about it though so I’m just going off what I’ve seen/heard from other people

Ya, I am generally concerned for the bleeding of the cooling system. if you look close, I ran a line from the top of the water pump, over the intake manifold, and into the steam line. I will add a bleeder here and hope it works. it is the highest point in the system. I can also move the lines inbound for the bleeding process, jack the front of the car sky high, and as a last resort, vacuum bleed it.
