They won't have a difference in sound. I heard a magnaflow on a 525i before and it was a lot quieter than my 530i. Sounded like stock.

Hmm, that's not a good thing is it? I mean, I don't want it insanely loud but I want to have a deeper, sportier tone...

I am not sure Carlova explained himself clearly....

Are you saying the two mufflers 14815 & 14816 don't have a sound difference? Was the magnaflow on the 525 that you heard the same magnaflow on your 530?

Worse case scenario, if it's not loud enough, you can just remove a resonator on your 525.

Yeah, that's what I'd like to know.

If it sounds stock then whats the point

well, for me if it sounded stock, i would have been just as happy. The appearance would have been sufficient for me.

The ultimate driving experience need not to be messed with.............

    Thanks man!
Nothing is a bad idea, it's all personal preference. At 47 I am looking for subtle, at 25 I was looking for bigger and noisier!

Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant that the 14815/16 shouldn't be any difference in sound, just appearance.

On a 525i, I heard an oval shaped magnaflow (not sure which model #), but it wasn't as loud as the sound of my 530i. I believe he installed magnaflow cats as well, iirc. It had a cute little rumble though.

I think the screw covers need to be cf and I think the black behind the bmw lettering needs to be cf.

This style in cf would look best I think

If it can be black instead of cf weather tech sells them for a pretty good price. Although they do have weather tech etched in them, which may or may not be a problem.

This hidden design is kinda nice. Although it has integrated polycarbonate cover, which is not legal everywhere and some stupid places actually give you tickets for it.

cf screw covers. No idea if this store is any good, I just did a google search

I don't see CF ones in the two links you provided:

Dont think you'd be able to tell you had a plate frame if you get black. I like the BMW logo though.

I think you would be able to tell you have a black frame even though you have a black car with that style frame I posted because the frame sticks out it out a bit it does not sit nearly as flush as the style frame you posted.

Sorry I was not clear. With the first link I meant if you could find one in this style with the integrated screw covers, but a cf version that would be ideal. I did a couple of google searches but was unable to find a cf version. I am not sure if anyone makes one. I just posted that 1st link to give you an idea of the style.

So basically this shape/style, but in cf if someone makes it. I just think this style looks the cleanest/most elegant versus the style with the screw cap covers sticking out. Although you may prefer a plate frame with the BMW lettering on it.

Or if you were feeling ambitious and have some cf left over you could try and wrap the plate cover. There is a youtube video of some wrapping a license plate frame so I guess it is possible. Although no idea how you would wrap the screw covers.

As far as the screw covers link, yeah that store did not seem to actually show a pic of cf screw covers, but it did list them. Maybe they don't have the cf pattern, maybe the cf ones are just matte black.

I think you were just referring to those links not having cf parts, but in case that other link with the cf frame is not working here is a shot of it.

fyi I also ran across these which I think might be a bit over the top and a little expensive.

They have em on ebay too.
I think I would plastidip the chrome part though.

Would be too much IMO. I don't like CF that screams "look at me!!" the diffuser was done as a more unusual or subtle thing. This would be overkill. Regular black license plate screws are fine too, IMO. The giant BMW black plastic knobs look a bit try hard too. I don't think ever notice anyones license plate screws and thats how it should stay

What he said. I vote no license plate frame at all. It adds weight. Its like -5 horsepower.

I'll post pics when the CF one arrives on Monday. I am thinking the black elements will be lost in the black car.

If it looks wrong, I'll have one for sale soon
