Very very nice!!!
Thanks Man!
Gotta love the forum, particularly when the suggestion works EXACTLY how I wanted this car, nice and quiet!
I am going to be right behind you as soon as I find a body shop willing to notch my stock rear bumper for me. Your pics plus the ones posted by others showing how this muffler looks with a modified stock bumper have me 100% convinced that this is what I am going to do. Thanks to everyone on the forum!
Very nice! I knew this would be a simple MF solution.
Nice! Planning to go this route when my rear bumper arrives next month. However, I am concerned about what I'm reading about the inlet size being 2.25 while original is 2.75? on the 540?
Any comments or alternatives on that would be appreciated. No go if I am going to be losing noticeable torque.
I did some careful cutting of the diffuser today. Will post some pics once it's wrapped in carbon fiber
Got my stepson's buddy to wrap my diffuser
That looks sweet with the carbon fiber wrap! Can't wait until I get myself a m style rear bumper. I'm starting to get annoyed with all the scratches and chips i have on mine, and plus, they're angled like a boat towards the car.
Well i maybe a bit off topic but i really like REMUS exhaust
The price is not cheap but the sound is one of the best
+ remus has free shipping today
Here is what in my mind for 2003 530i sport ( rear bumper cutted already )

Ha, well when I bought it, I was told that it was an oem diffuser. Apparently, it was not and all the clips broke off so its held on with double sided tape. It just came off the other day haha. Paid $75 for this piece of plastic...
But you see what I mean when its flush with the diffuser? Its smack center with the cutout.

I see what you mean. I sort of like more of the muffler showing.
You can buy a new diffuser for less than what you paid for that one! I've used this source for my M5 bumper conversion, cheapest OEM source by far!

^^^^^ Thanks!
The first and second pic are more accurate of the color. The last has a reflection of the garage mat and the sky

Normally I don't like CF but this time A+!
verrrry nice
Thanks guys
One more, tough day for photos with the overcast skies. I need a license plate frame, any suggestions????
What about this one, would a carbon fiber one be too ricey?:

I am still waiting for the right front bumper moulding and headlight trims to be sprayed. BMW sent me the wrong pieces so being the perfectionist that I am, no photos while the car is in ghetto-mode
see what I mean :

Hey Fmzip, I've got an 03 525i and I'd like to achieve that same sound you've got on your 530i.
Do you think they'll sound much different? And do you know if there's any difference between the 14815 vs the 14816?
Thanks!
I don't think they will sound much different although the 525, 530 and 540 each have different OEM mufflers.
The 14816 outlet tips are larger than the 14815. As far as sound differences, I do not know. I like the outlet tips on the 14816 better but they are just too large for my tastes
14816 vid is here:

Hmm well I don't have an M rear bumper, so I'd be planning on making a cutout.
Would the 14816 be a bad idea to use since I'd have to make a bigger cutout?
Thanks man!
