Hello everyone,
I was wondering if the M-Pars from a 7-series fit an E34 with the proper tire size? I found a good deal on a set, and wanted to snatch them if
they can properly be mounted. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Yes they will work perfect on an E34.
The 7-series tires are pretty tall though and won't work on the front. I believe they come with 235/50/18's and 255/45/18's.
I ran them with just changing the fronts to a shorter tire and keeping the 255/45's on the rear on my E34 sedan.
Here's a pic for reference:

Yeppers - to confirm Teaguer's post, no issues with running E38 M-Pars on the E34 - no hubcentric rings needed. Just the correct tires for our cars, as the E38's are too tall.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
E38 Mpars fit our cars like they were made for them! Simply buy the appropriate tires for them.
TireRack.com recommends 235/40-18 for the fronts and 265/35-18 for the rears
I went with Continental ExtremeContact DW Max Perfromance Summer tires and loved them!

E34 M-Parallels were "made" for E34s. E38 fitment is second in line....
E34 M-Parallels were 18x8 et20 and 18x9 et22 correct? with 235 and 255 tires? I'm less sure of tire sizes than I am of offsets.
Yes offsets are correct, factory size is 245/45 front and back on the staggered setup.
Thanks fellas! What tires would you guys recommend I run?
E34 spec M Parallels: F 8J ET 20, R 9J ET22. Factory Tire Size 245/45 Front and Rear
E38 spec M Parallels: F 8J ET 13, R 9.5J ET25
Forged Version of M-Pars: 36-11-2-227-931 and -933
Why isn't this in the FAQ in some form? Its a common question/search I'm sure.

Would 235/40-18 for the fronts and 265/35-18 for the rears be a proper tire size?
Yes, that is a common setup for e34s on e38 fitment style 37s...
265/40/18 not clear in the rear? Why is there a lower profile in the rears?
Thanks for all the help fellas!
Gixxer, I've noticed something weird. You have 265's in the back, but they look extremely snug on those wheels. They extend quite obviously over the rim, and look awesome.
Funny thing is, my 275's don't look that good on mine. Are you sure you're running a staggered set? I can't tell from the pics as I'm not wearing my glasses and your M-Pars are oh so sexy and shiny.

Different tires have different profiles...it's likely that your tires are just more round shouldered than his Conti's. Remember - the width measurement is at the widest part of the tire, not the tread itself. On a lot of tires that's right on the sidewall just above the rim (when discussing low profile tires like these). Some tires are really square shouldered and broad tread, others are 'European profile' and really rounded, with narrower tread. I prefer the former, myself.
Other than that, you can clearly see the increased width or his real wheels in the pics...they be staggered.

245/40R18 and 275/35R18 on mine. No spacers no rubbing.
Photobucket sucks!
Long live the E34!
Valid points. However, my Nexens have curb protectors, too. Gixxer, is your M-Par set E34 or E38 spec? If it's a 9 inch wheel in the back, I think that is my answer.
My 255's are mounted right now for some sliding action. Will take pics when I re-mount the 275's for comparison.
If you do have 9.5" in the back, then I guess K-Fox is right. It's simply a different tire design.
Again, looks great.

I need a single 8J for the trailer project if anyone's gotny
