Wrong car? I debadged mine and there is no red anything back there except tail lights. It's not injected with anything either, but maybe it should be!

Brian, I think he is referring to the red 5 on your plate, coincidence? And originally the "i" indicated Fuel Injected in BMW nomenclature.

Oooohh, I'm slow I guess (me, not the car). So that's because it was registered in May and renewal is due in May of each year. 5 = May.

You might be right about the meaning of i = injected but my three meanings didn't relate to that.

    You got it!

The "i" goes way back to the 2002tii days...........maybe even further back, I'm not sure.

Ya, not my guesses, mine were "hauls stuff, a trailer, and A$$".
Your wagon is very clean but I like my badging better.

I hate badging. I almost debadged the M5 also but figured I should leave it original. No offense meant

I'm gonna try to get some pictures of the badges on one of our local SF Bay Area 540iT owners... I like it than anything I've seen so far. He fabricated a 540iT badge. Looks like it came from factory that way.

You guys have Instagram? NorcalMTBeerandon is my name.

My rule of thumb is with new cars, the more badging it has/needs, the crappier the car is.

My wife and I have #76, a 2003 540it M-sport with 45,000 miles. We bought it a couple years ago - with 41,000 miles and in mint condition - after a very long search for a good touring, and we love it! Attaching a couple pictures.

GN92353 here.. I guess that makes me #12? I liked the earlier list where i was #3.. and I wasn't labeled as a press car. =)

In the process of getting ahead the maintenance. Car is stock and eventually will be back to newish again. Just replaced the bags and will be hunting down shocks next and the power steering lines next.

I just bought # 92668 which apparently is 1 of 10..Mine has the navigation system, which although archaic, makes it a little more of a rare bird..Im still not certain if I am going to keep it though..

I thought we all had the navigation by default on these cars?

Figured that. Seems BMW would be more likely to make navigation delete an option.

Sweet!!! Knew these were rare cars.. But to even have a more unique one is pretty cool. All the more reason to invest fixing the little things.

GN92489 is being delivered to me today between 6pm and 9pm.

#141 according to the OP list
    it's jet black/black 2 (color code 668) on grey
so i guess that makes me one of only 4 cars, which is interesting.
Looking for an e39 Touring black carpet set, including the rear cargo cubbies and side sections!
ALSO looking for 540i 6speed manual transmission sets (2001+ pedals with switches, driveshaft, gearbox), for the 6speed swap! Probably not for a while....

I'm post #59 over there.. plus there seems to be a few "registry" threads floating around here.. not sure which is really the correct thread.

That was back last fall. It would have been a decent car with a fun color and already having the M sport bumpers and style 66 wheels.

This is pretty awesome, I just bought this wagon you were considering buying thanks for not buying it Now i'm the owner of this super rare gem! These are my last 7 GN92474.
