e39 radio problems. PLEASE HELP

I have a 2003 bmw 525i that i need to fix the radio in before i sell it. i made the mistake of already telling the buyer i would. the radio face does not light up and after a minute or so the radio will cut off completely. and the only way you can control it is using the steering wheel controls. it isnt the radio itsself as we have tried it in a different vehicle and it works completely. we have also replaced the amp under the direction of someone else and are still having the problem.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same issue. Replaced the MID, Amp and CD/Radio. Nothing help.

It finally begun working once a new CDs player was installed. Those separate radio and CDs players are hellacious trouble

Help my son cut my amp harnesses in the trunk trying to fix amp failure now I'm stuck trying to match the wires to send them back to the front for the poisoner head rig / amp unit. I have no clue what wires to pair together 525i 2003

If he cut the wires just match the colors back together again.
