If you want to save yourself some $ oil changes are easy DIY. Especially easy when you use a fluid evacuator pump like the Motive 1708 or similar products by the Mityvac brand. No need to raise the car up, just suck all the oil out with the Motive or Mityvac through the dip stick tube and replace the oil filter. Then, you can take the used oil to your local recycling center or service station that accept used oil.

Detractors of this method claim this method would not remove contaminants from the bottom of the pan. But, that is the reason you are suppose to replace the filter with every oil change regardless of extraction method.

I started a log a long time ago with the thought I'd have it for when I may sell the car. Eventually, started doing so much pre-emptive maintenance and service (like two oil changes a year on less than 8000 miles) and modifications (some irreversible) that I just threw in the towel. Anyone locally who knows my car, knows the level of care. It will likely sell locally just because of its performance.

Thanks for the advice. I like to have it done at Heroux near Mtl. They only work on BMW since 1976, I appreciate the fact that they look at the car too.

While a car is in storage the gas tank should be 100% full with 100% gas/no ethanol. This prevents as much moisture from accumulating in the tank.

Start the car often and let it run long enough to get the oil hot enough to evaporate the moisture out of the oil.

Reinforcing the welds on the cross member in the trunk alone is not enough. The differential flopping about can rip the trunk floor. I attached round spring steel to the bottom of my differential and attached the spring to the car's frame with roll bar linkage. So far so good. It is only necessary to attach to the car's frame on the passenger side. I did all the work at a cost of $30 for materials. On my 1998 Z3 2.8L roadster I found four holes on the bottom of the differential suitable to tap and attach a steel plate that I welded the spring steel to. This is likely the cheapest way out of this nightmare. A torsion bar from a junkyard is a good source for round spring steel. I used round spring steel because there isn't much room to work with back there.

Might want to store it on jackstands to prevent flat spots on the tires

    Season 2015 is on.

When for esthetic stuff this year, got the lower front bumper re painted, changed the sidelight to the euro model (white with orange bulb), got the euro licence plate holder painted to the car color and got a new german plate. This when for 550$ canadian dollars

Also met a guy who love to do esthetic on car, he did a glare and wax, buffed a scratch I had on the side, cleaned the engine buffed all light and treated the leather of the seat, 220$ canadian dollar

She is all set for the season

Beautiful roady, but i'm a little confused

I thought Canada got euro spec cars with the S50, smaller glovebox etc?

I find it a bit strange seeing as here in mexico we only got the S50, not the S52

Canada got US spec cars for this era. They got a very small run of special edition E36 M3's that came fitted with the euro S50.

This is actually the first I've heard that Mexico got the euro S50 as well. Though, I'm not even aware of a large sales effort of these cars in Mexico to begin with, so maybe they are imports. I'd be curious to look up the VIN on S50-equipped cars in Mexico to see the destination country.
