Hey thanks. The flares and front lip are actually replica Group 2 based on the 80s racecars.

    Quick update time.
    This happened: http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...1l-Turbo-Build

Got it mounted into the car over the weekend. Now just need to button everything up. Going to start breaking in hopefully later this week and get it on the dyno in the next couple weeks.

There are a couple things that lead to the sump not fitting. The motor is about all the way against the firewall. but also the e36 suspension would make the sump not fit quite right even without moving the motor back. So I figured if I had to mod it I might as well push the motor as far back as possible.

got confused about your e36 suspension comment. then i read the first page of the thread. this is not the build i thought this was. all i can say is holy crap you'll actually have a functional, well performing e21 drift car

i think the rear suspension is fine but i wonder if the mods you had to do to get the e36 subframe to fit disqualifies the car for any sort of competition. i.e. US Drift, ect, other organizations that basically follow the FD rule book

Yeah, I know its not really a competition legal setup (unless I were to get a waiver.) But in all reality I think it is going to end up being more of a hotrod street car that I can take to the track on the weekends. I don't really have any delusions of going pro at this point. It's more just a way to hang out and have fun.

Hey man, great build. Are you planning on going to any of the MDU events this summer? I just moved to Detroit and am hoping to have my e36 reading for the one June 19th... I'd love to see your e21 in person!

Thanks man. Yeah I am hoping to make it out on the 19th. Its only like 20 minutes away so I will be there regardless, but I really would like to drive it.

Awesome man. Side note, do you know who runs the Michigan Drifting fb page? I requested to join like a week ago but haven't gotten a response lol. Probably cuz I haven't got my crappy e36 as my cover photo or something...

Well it does officially drift now. I made it out to Back 2 Basics on Sunday and it was a pretty good day. I am still dialing in the tune. It kind of falls on its face if I come off throttle and its hard to get back in it. Here are the couple pics I have so far.

I may have found a bit of mud...

A little bit of a smudge but still a good shot.

Well here is a fun find I made while recalibrating my o2. Apparently too much angle for e46 arms...

Also, I did a thing last week. Didn't turn out too bad for a roller paint job.

Yeah, luckily the wheel seems to a much tougher aluminum and aren't in too bad of shape...
