Would love to see what that turbo can do at 32-35 psi!

It wouldn't make any more boost without tapering back down up top, so it's pretty maxed out on my setup. Granted it's billed as a 1000hp turbo so that's about right.

Very impressive but it looks like it rolls over on the high horsepower pull. Probably tapped out for the 35r. Awesome graph looks majestic.

It is so responsive that I would not care about dropping a few rwhp at 6900. A balance choice in turbo for one of these motors. I really liked mine. I got about the same out of my 0.82 GT3582R at 607/580 SAE but was on 93 pump with supplemental meth and needed 21 psi.

Im hoping for similar results with my upgraded GT3586 wheel and meth, along with the steed speed twin scroll manifold.

If possible I'd get the 9180 EFR like jgcm3 has. That 2.8 would hit full boost 1500 rpm sooner and put up the same power, more torque

Turbo isn't the only factor here, Franc has a 2.8L at 8.5:1 CR vs jgcm3 with a 3.2 at 9.5:1 CR. The added displacement and compression are definitely playing a big role in the spool difference here. Also, Franc has super long gears, and his run is being done in 3rd gear, vs 4th gear like jgcm3 which loads the turbo more.

Obviously the 9180 is a faster spooling turbo, but it also costs a lot more. All things equal, maybe a 500 rpm difference in spool, not 1,500... lol

    An update for my car:
    Same old S54 motor, E85 fuel, Precision 7675 Gen2 0.96A/R Open
    Red Run -12psi on gate
    Blue Run -29psi with 47%wgdc

Stock HG otherwise I'd bump the boost some more.

    Nice!^^^

So, when the change of turbos? Are you hunting for peak power now? IIRC, you always wanted transient response? Which EMS are you using, just wondering.

I went from the 7168 0.81A/R a few years back to the 6870 0.81A/R and made about 930rwhp with that. The two were actually pretty comparible with the 6870 being slightly better.

I upgraded about 4 months ago to the 7675 Gen2 0.96 A/R to give it a go. It's a bit laggier but in all honesty it's not as bad as I expected. My goal was to increase efficiency overall with less backpressure. EBP dropped considerably and I'm no longer limited on the turbine with as hard as I've pushed it so far.

So far I'm very happy with it; there's no question that the 6870 is a fun street turbo but this 7675 has given me that new rush of adrenaline. I'm using the AEM Infinity for an EMS.

Also stock s50 cams and a stock head, and my setup is still t3. Had her over 40psi this weekend at FL2k.

I remember that change. The big turbos are stout when they hit.

Dang! I didn't think that that compressor could go that far on our platform.

Good points Polak. The 2.8 was loaded in 3rd so it's the other way around. Also 8.5 to 9.5 isn't a HUGE difference in compression. 6% or so efficiancy. The displacement means the most. Either way, 500rpm makes a big difference especially on a street car..
