TORQUE:The moment of a force; the measure of a force's tendency to produce torsion and rotation about an axis, equal to the vector product of the radius vector from the axis of rotation to the point of application of the force and the force vector.
Torque is the effective ability of a force producing device (engine) to accelerate an object (vehicle) at a certain RPM. Peak horsepower (peak work) is a derived metric of rpm (time) and torque (force/thrust), and is rarely an appropriate measurement of a cars ability to accelerate over the full power band.
Since this has been yet to be done (that I know of), let's start a list of the Big Torque Club.
