These ones are longer and have ev1 connectors. I wanted to test them because they would be a good economical option and easier fitment for people on here.
LOL I still have them and I still used them every time I play with cams. I was searching through to see if you replaced the tires and I came across this. Sweet to get that 9 sec pass but sucks that it could have been way faster!

oh yea, MT recently came out with a new tire, the Pro Bracket Radial. Its essentially a slick, but radial construction and super sticky.

Oh yea, if you think the tires are moving, use permatex high tack on the beads, they won't move.

Thats a good tip. I was thinking of bringing them in and having the tire shop break the bead and spin the tires 180 and reseat them. I'm wondering if one bead slipped and not the other. If I have to buy another set I will probably buy the M/T pro's. They were out of stock when I ordered the hoosiers.
Kinda looks like it might have broken a band internally. I don't think spinning the bead, even one, would make it be out of round. But good luck!

The traction was really really good on them for being a no prep event. I am going to see if Hoosier will do anything for me but I can't help but feel like I threw away $450 on these. I expect them to tell me you cant run a radial with a stick and best of luck.

Good news, I called jegs who I bought them from and they put me through to one of there techs and I described the situation. They are going to take the tires back on return and even offered to provide the shipping labels for free. I will be buying a set of bias slicks tonight from them. This is why you buy your stuff from a reputable supplier. Jegs and Summit have always treated me well.
Nice!

Made the switch to slicks. Got a set of mickey thompson 28x10.5w-15 stiff wall slicks. I mounted them myself on a manual tire changer and glued the beads on the rim with Permatex hi tack, as BMWSOB suggested. I couldn't be happier with them. They hook so much better than the radials its unbelievable and on my car were not unstable at all even with street radials on the front. With the drag radials I had to slip the clutch way out of the hole with no boost and if the boost came on too hard it would spin. Now I can clutch out way harder and leave with 20 lbs of boost on the launch control. I got booted off the track for not having my nhra licence so only got to make one full pass with launch control. I missed third gear really bad but ran it out anyway.
mounted slick on left, mounted 325/50-15 radials on right
Should have done this from the beginning. They drive great. They tend to follow the grooves in the road which the radials do not, but they are not the least bit unstable. These are the stiff sidewall version of this tire, which means they have a piece of flexible plastic molded into the sidewall which keeps them from totally balling up like a normal slick on high power cars.

^^^ thanks otis. They drive perfectly fine on the street. The only difference I notice is they don't chirp around corners like the radials did with no rear diff, and if the car gets loose up top the whole car will shift right or left but the rear end doesn't come out. With the radials if you got loose at speed the rear end would come out but you would still drive straight. Its kind of like the rear tires are steering the car. Its quite manageable if you just get out of it.
I went to import race yesterday that they do up here called the MAP proving grounds. I never went before because I didn't know they had a test and tune, and I usually don't care for the import scene much. It was actually a fun event and there were very few people actually drag racing. First thing I did was finally get my NHRA licence so they will stop kicking me off the track. That was pretty straight forward, just had to do a cockpit orientation with the nhra guy and then do 6 solo license passes. You have to do one half pass, 3 moderate passes, and 2 full passes. I can hot lap my car so i did all 6 in 45 minutes. Then you have to have two other licensed drivers to sign off on your application. I didn't know anybody there so I just started asking people and the first two people I found were very willing to help. So that will be in the mail on monday to get my card.
After that they said you can go ahead and run as if you had a license so I made a few more passes. For the last few passes I turned up the boost to 28 psi but was having a really hard time with traction. The car was also all over the place on the big end of the track and I had to keep getting out of it. I raised the tire pressure from 12 to 15 and that calmed the car down on the top of the track but then the 60 foot went away. The car is a big crowd favorite and I get thumb ups and people yelling cool car at me wherever I go which is fun. Lots of people coming to see what motor is in it. I drove it to and from the track and cruised around the pits all day and never had to touched anything on the car. I still havn't tuned it any more than the 15 minutes after I switched injectors on the way to the track last time.
These were the 7 passes I made after the license passes.
